There is not a more appropriate name for Columbus, Ohio band razorbliss. frontman / vocalist Randy Razor, founding member / bassist Tommy T-Bone Caradonna (Alice Cooper, Lita Ford), guitarists Mark Nye (X-Rated Cowboys) & Drake Tulloh, and drummer Matt Mees (The Godz) deliver a fresh take on metal, endeavoring to create a sensation born of spectacle, bombast, and melody, all the while adhering to a strict sense of professionalism.
Comedy of Errors, the first full-length album by razorbliss, destroys expectations of what a band is capable of on their first outing. Placing equal emphasis on hooks and heaviness, they concoct a sound that is sharp, electric, and bound to drag the listener kicking and screaming into a state of rapture. Euphoria through evisceration, pleasure from pain. Lyrically, the songs serve as snapshots of vice-ridden souls, twisted hearts, murder, greed, and a character likely to wink and smile as he slits you up the middle: Nicoteen. Track by track, the record serves as a shot in the arm to the currently bleak, visionless state of modern rock.

Lowdown: Razorbliss offers a welcoming deadly sound to a local scene dominated by thrashing metal hardcore. The Columbus, Ohio band’s melodic grim samples line up with edgy guitar riffs that punch a hole from underneath the ground to pull listeners under. Below the tombstone Randy Kuszmaul’s dark fluctuating vocals, murderous chorus lines and Iggy Pop theatrics match the funk bass grooves of former Alice Cooper, Lita Ford bass player Tommy Caradonna that encompass the soul with no resistance. Fans of Gravity Kills, Nine Inch Nails, Stabbing Westward, and Marilyn Manson will never want to resurrect once they fall into this grave.
