About Me
Welcome to this myspace page. I'm a proud vegan. I'm here to help spread the word and end the ignorance. We are not here to destroy the Earth, though we are doing a pretty good job of it. All I ask is that you consider what we as a species are doing to this planet everyday.
ABOUT VEGANISM.
WE DON’T NEED TO EAT ANIMALS TO SURVIVE.Protein isn’t an issue, though many people believe it is. We get more than enough protein by eating meat, and you don’t need that much surplus of it. There’s protein in nuts [almonds, peanuts, walnuts, etc.], beans, bread, and soy products.Calcium isn’t an issue either. There is 30% calcium in soy milk compared to 35% calcium in milk from cows. That’s only a 5% difference. Plus there’s some in your vegetables. You should probably take vitamins though, just to make sure you’re getting everything you need without having to worry about it. But if you balance your diet really well, vitamins aren’t a necessity.Eating is all about taste and pleasure. Food is an indulgence. People eat food because they love it, that’s why there is a lot of obese people in the world. IF people stopped worrying about the taste and focused on what their body needs, they would see that people don’t need meat.By going vegetarian and vegan, you lower the demand for meat. Just think of it this way. What would happen if everyone in the world stopped eating meat, the slaughterhouses wouldn’t have any business. There would no longer be a demand for meat. So by just one person going vegan or vegetarian, they are saving animals. There are a few reasons decide to stop eating meat. Religious reasons, moral reasons, or health reasons. Personally, I went vegan because of the animals. I found out how they treat them in some slaughterhouse, and it made me sick to my stomach. I could no longer eat meat. I just don’t understand how people could treat animals like they AREN’T living creatures without feelings. They scream, they cry, they feel pain, they AREN’T inanimate objects with their only purpose is to satisfy our taste buds.Going vegan or vegetarian the healthy way is very beneficial. And when I say healthy I mean, balanced food groups, like in the vegan pyramid. Vegans have more energy because they aren’t loaded down by fats in meats, like saturated and trans fats. One of my friends that just went vegan lost several pounds because shes no longer eating meat or dairy and is balancing her foods. Think of it this way. If an obese person went vegan, they would lose a lot of weight. Dairy products and meat are VERY fattening.
