About Me

Professional MySpace Layouts by Iron Spider
In the early 1990s the respected Jayshon (Knotty) Trower formerly a MTV Grind dancer and Model opened KnottyDredz Recording Studios in the downtown area of Asbury Park, in a loft space that once belonged to the honorable Judge Lawrence M. Lawson who once counseled nervous criminal defendants from that same space. Judge Lawson the first African American Superior Court Judge in Freehold N.J. likely wouldnt care for Knottys Dredlocks. But he would dig a hard-working young African American building his own business while dealing with the non-sense in the streets of Asbury Park.Knottys love for music began as a drummer/organist for his church. Also, as a dancer he belonged to several dance groups and performed mad talented shows. His group the Nature Boys was known to rip a few. Knotty was also known for putting together the music for his performances and mostly everyone else in the show. He also DJd in New Jersey clubs at the age of 15. The older he got the hungrier his knowledge for music became. He then learned the art of recording. Starting off with the Sp-12 to add to his turntables, he began making beats. Being inspired by the N.J. & N.Y. club scene. He first started out making Underground House music, when it was big in the early 90s. "Shout out to all my real house heads".

Band Members:INTERVIEW THE PRODUCERHow did you get into hip hop music? I started off doing dance music for years because I was a DJ before I started producing but when I did hip hop tracks for people in the studio, they all said they were hot and plus where Im from, hip hop was the only thing people wanted to record. Only a selected few liked house music, that was a up north thang. How long have you been producing?Since 1993 when a friend of mine(rikeem) let me hold his SP-1200 for a week. I had to have sampled every house & classic album I had in that week. From that point on, I knew I had to get my own equipment to make the music and not just play it.Do you chose to sample or originate?Ill do both depending on the track and whom Im making the track for. If Im on a gritty vibe and heard or recall a sound off of an album or a phase sample that I like, I will sample and chop it to play it my way. If Im on a laid back ballot vibe, I will let my fingers do the talking.Read The Rest Of Interview At WWW.BeatzByKnotty.Com ............................................................ ............................................
