From Rosedale, Queens in NY...
Sha Da God and J Porter pursued the rap game professionally over 10 years ago while in their teens. Their former manager, GOTTI (R.I.P.) was reportedly shot and killed in a neighborhood nightclub. Unfortunately, that dream came to a halt.
There had been setbacks long enough when Sha Da God met Ruler Divine (myspace.com/rulerdivine) in '99-2000. Ruler (formerly known as Big Dex) was primarily known for his work with the Lost Boyz amongst many others (QSR). Ironically, the first time Sha and Ruler met, they were opponents in a 2 on 2 battle on the street they both used to live on. The battle ended in peace and they went separate ways.
After some time had passed, Sha Da God and Ruler Divine had bumped into each other again, but this time they formed an alliance...
Booking studio time every now and again, slowly but surely, Sha and J Porter had a re-birth. With Porter's love for the art and skillful display of words and Sha's risque' delivery and unique ideas, they make a solid union that we now refer to as MDG.
Along the way, Sha and J picked up some ride-or-die members that strongly supported the movement (you should see the tats). There are many MDG members in heart and spirit - however there are 2 that put it in everyday for this. Those members are Sonny Poe and Stay High - who from time to time dabble in lyrical versatility.
From a town with many talented artists and hustlers, comes representatives worthy of their duty...MDG. Welcome to Mobzdale.
