How I made my profile:
I used Dave & Jay's amazing myspace profile editor .
Legends of Greytown; A sketchbook featuring stories from an unfulfilled city.
Not a specific place but rather a surreal platform, carried by a cloud composed of grey soundscapes, inner city sounds and creative voices. Stories that take place between clouds of illusion, reflecting life experiences, new ideas, positive expectations as well as everyday remorse and frustrations nailed down in refreshing rhyme patterns.
Following LOG's search for their identity, the truth and an irrevocable passion for a better world, the listener gets sucked into a chain-reaction of tales balanced on the thin line between fiction and reality. That is how producer and beat creator X-savia and rappers D.O.C. and Wolfface describe their music.
Live Shows:
Don’t expect stereotypical punchlines or boost & bragg raps. “Hip hop can be so much more than thatâ€, is what these creative souls claim, taking you on a journey to explore new possibilities in the genre through storytelling with a twist, cynical lines and hilarious wordplay.
In addition, the project includes two female vocalists: Dorien and Sa whose delivery adds a lucid and melodic touch, building a subliminal bridge between the verses of both mc’s.
In the summer of 2008, DJ Jack joined to crew, completing the line-up. This turntablist from Diest participated in many DJ battles, taking 2nd place in the DMC Benelux battle of 2007. Truly, one of Belgium’s finest on the decks.
A Bit Of History:
As D.O.C. hooks up with Wolfface and X-savia in the year 2000, they start working on songs/gigs under the name of Rhymedealaz. They deliver a few tracks for several compilation CD’s and also make a remix for a Poprock band named Glowee. This resulted into airplay on local radio-stations. But the most important thing back then, was to find a solid ground to build on...
The release of Wolf’s solo cd ‘Leaving tha Flock’ at the end of 2005 became their no.1 priority. As a result of this home grown production, they played shows at Culture Club (Gent), Petrol (Antwerp), Playfestival (Hasselt) and Pukkelpop (Kiewit) as the highlights of a creatively succesful year in 2006. After the summer the group finishes a great track (and their last track under that moniker) called ‘When nothing makes sense’. It was released on the compilation CD ‘Control Chaos’ on the former Dedkob label, produced by CJPA.
A Time Of Change:
At the end of 2006 X-Savia decides to take a break to build his own studio and get himself into some new software. Wolfface moves from Hasselt to Antwerp, and D.O.C. heads to the Big Apple for 3 months to get in touch with the vibe and the atmosphere which this legendary city has to offer. He gets the opportunity to host some great parties in and around New York City alongside the biggest names in the local Drum N' Bass scene.
In the meantime, the lyrical interaction between D.O.C. and Wolfface kept on growing and getting more refined. The rhymes have become more mature and thought out, both bringing their writing skills to a higher level, while X-Savia came up with a brandnew sound - and it all connected.
All this new sound and concept needed was a fresh name: Legends of Greytown was born!
