As you can see my name is dj dyche to some people and diggz to others. Ive been djing for about 4 years but only within the last year i have started playin to crowds. When i first realised that i had the eye for djing i was an mc at the time, spitting bars with mc’s such as whitey aka grudge, smutti star and more. I think my first sign of interest in dj’s was listening to dj natty because of his perfect mixes and his ability to read the mc. After a year of spittin, there was nothing init for me anymore (maybe its that i wasnt good enuff or because grime got drowned by bassline ’’i duno’’ lol but good luck for them mc’s that stuck at it). Anyway thats when i thought i should get myself a pair of decks. On the day of gettin my decks i had 3 records lololol then my cousin (mantis) who had been djin for quite some time donated a few records so i could get maself some practice. For a whole 5 to 6 months i practiced for atleast half an hour a day (driving ma mum crazy) then after a couple of years, round about the time i left school mantis asked me if i want to warm up a rave that he was resident for. at first i wasn’t to keen because i had never played to people before, but mantis told me i will neva get betta unless i play to a crowd. So i did it, i didnt play to alot of people but it was still alot for me. I didnt impress but i didnt flop so i was happy with that. ever since that day i followed mantis everywhere he went. After finally gettin the practice i needed and gettin rid off the butterflys every time i put the headphones on, mantis introduced me to itche. by jst watchin him and mantis play together just made me wana practice even more, i wanted to be part of the crowd rockin, fast mixes and pure quality they had behind the decks. Shortly after we all became very close, talkin to each other everyday.
In the summer of 2007 we began playing in a club called bespoke in derby, we wasn’t the only dj’s within the bar at this time there was 3 to 4 residents already playing there on a regz. so that ment every time we played we had to smash it. The first time we played at bespoke was on a bank holiday and all 3 of us was there and all 3 of us was ready to impress. Im not chatting shit when i say this, but that night bespoke had never seen anything like it, i had never seen anything like it. We had the whole club dancin and we didnt leave them no time to sit down by hitting them with fast mixes and big tunes. thats were i realised that i had improved and i was ready to call myself a dj, A MIDrange DJ!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
