Vanessa

With no formal training, Vanessa began creating original piano music at the age of 7. By age 12 she was teaching piano and cello to multiple students and had written a concerto for her elementary school's graduation. Vanessa went on to receive training at Fiorello H LaGuardia H.S. of Music and Performing Arts in Manhattan. Besides a few years of study, most of her experience comes from NYC’s music scene, either watching or playing for various rock and metal bands. She was in her first performing band at 17 playing places like - Limelight, CBGB’s, Danceteria, Lamour, Arlene Grocery, Bond St Café, Under Acme, The Bank, Bat Cave, Knitting Factory and the Chiller Theatre Horror Convention Band Credits include: Goth rock band Dreambox; Vasaria, a Brooklyn based metal band, signed to Century Media records from 1998- 2002 and toured Europe playing large venues throughout Germany Austria and Switzerland. www.myspace.com/vasaria see “Edge of Supremacy”; All girl heavy Punk band Tang performing with the likes of Quiet Riot and Dee Snider of twisted Sister fame Other credits: Swedish based indie group Starlet (Dead Starlet) with singer/ song writer Camela Laeirth; Original music for the Hunter College Dance Program 2000-2004; Scored the short film Meemo by NY director J.Lapenna LINK http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=i7oxzFlXUyQ; Guest appearance on Candiria’s full length “Kiss the Lie” 2007Vanessa continues to compose original music and currently works on an instrumental piano and guitar project with John Lamacchia (Candiria, Spylacopa) called Speechless. Most recently Vanessa concieved the score for Tate Stiensik's short horror flick "CLOWN". A full length feature is in the works.
