Trower of Power (Robin Trower Tribute)

It isn't easy when you're living out of time. When your soul is not bound by convention and the spirit of your music easily captures the hearts of your fans. When guitarist Mike Witt, bassist/vocalist George Dubose, and percussionist Dan Powers decided to pay tribute to Robin Trower, an extraordinary blues-rock guitarist, who with his signature Fender Stratocaster has kept that concept alive; they knew to stick close to Trower’s authentic '60s and '70s style of entertainment.Guitarist Mike Witt is the driving force behind “Trower of Power”, who hand selected bassist/vocalist George Dubose and drummer Dan Powers after months of painstaking auditions. “I had great confidence in the Trower tribute concept, once I had the right players in place”, reminisced Mike. “The combined talent of this band, along with our dedication to preserve the music of one of the greatest guitarists, makes us a true tribute to the extraordinary and classic Robin Trower”, adds Mike with confidence.All three band members of have been fans since the “Bridge of Sighs” album debuted in 1974. Trower’s incredible song writing and amazing guitar work has greatly influenced each member of this amazing and authentic tribute band. Mike notes, “Bridge of Sighs was released just four years after the death of Jimi Hendrix. It had incredible impact at that time. Personally, I was blown away when I first heard it.”The band and many fans worldwide agree that Robin Trower may have filled the void created by Jimi Hendrix’s death, opening the door to soulful, yet kick ass rock and blues. “Trower of Power” reignites this feeling of innovation and freshness, of wholesome and artistic, that Robin Trower himself would be proud of.
