UNI-COMM's Latest Clog Entry:
(7/5/09) The ultimate purpose of property and state is to launder the dispossession of the people from the earth and establish a statute of limitations upon that theft.

(3/19/09) Anarchy means never having to say your highness.
@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@
(1/11/09) It is not people who are “ruining†the system it is the system that is ruining people.
@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@
(1/11/09)Class is determined by ones relationship to the forces of production and has nothing, despite common bourgeois obscuritanism, to do with income. Two people doing the same job in two different countries may earn very different wages but are still in the same class. Neither is an unemployed CEO automatically working class. Class is about a certain relationship to the material world through a particular relationship to the means of survival. Income may determine what one can do, but not how they must go about doing it.

(1/06/09) Socialist anarchisms are distinct among the various forms of anarchism in embracing a post-state vision of society. The others, individualist and primitivist, seek to reestablish real or imagined pre-state conditions, which have among there principal defects, the undeniable tendency toward resulting in the formation of states, or of having proven ineffective in resisting there development and imposition. In either case they choose to oppose the state and replace it with its very historical cause, and outmoded predecessor.
@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@
(1/1/09) All states are authoritarian as they author of the terms of social organization, their rule is absolutely authoritative. They may not be totalitarian if they stop at this (though everything in social life proceeds from this, and thus this authoritarianism guides the development of everything else in social and cultural life which follows…) But in any case they are, regardless of type, by there very nature, authoritarian.

(12/31/08) In order to live happily without the state we must abolish capitalism and all systems of socioeconomic dependency, and in order to abolish these, we must dissolve the state.
@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@
(12/28/08) Economic individualism begets social inequality. Social inequality begets systems of dependency. Systems of dependency beget hierarchy. Hierarchy begets church and state. Church and state beget the material and spiritual oppression of the individual. Which in turn begets alienation and social decay which begets a secondary dependency upon church and state as they act to organize and regulate the system of dependency founded on elitist economic individualism and hierarchy.
@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@
(10/30/08) Every attempt to make capitalism work socially causes it to fail economically and every attempt to make, or “helpâ€, capitalism work economically causes it to fail socially. Leave it alone and it will do both just fine.
@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@
(10/23/08) Bourgeois states are “founded†and “established†like businesses. Socialism must be built, not conceived of ideally, drafted up in some corporate charter, a.k.a. a constitution, to then be imposed from the top down, but organized organically from the ground up.
@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@
(10/22/08) Whenever the cause of revolution gains momentum we tend to see a comradeship between the working class and bohemianism. Today we have, I think, the development of a new class in bourgeois society; a virtual class of people phasing back and fourth between worker and bohemian conditions, which could only be possible under a developed capitalist system. This class may be seen, as a product of the system, as the agent of its dialectical self-negation.
@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@
(10/21/08) In all of existence, at all levels, there is only economy and the spectrum of probable modes of being; of doing and for some things thinking, which it recommends. These modes of being, furthermore, will ultimately prove to be either supportive or destructive of the terms which created them.
@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@
(10/20/08)The notion of meritocracy is predicated on the assumption that the ability to amass wealth and power is commensurate with some other socially redeeming characteristic. The self serving and counter-factual nature of this assertion is so apparent as to neither require nor deserve comment or refutation.
@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@
(10/18/08) Without the state, capitalism fails. With the state, communism fails. Republicanism is an unsustainable resistance to both fascism and libertarian socialism, but which will, in times of crisis, always choose the former over the latter.
@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@
(10/08/08) As life under capitalism becomes progressively specialized in its organization and requirements of human life, ever greater numbers and varieties of natural ways of being and doing (such as AD/HD or my favorite O.D.D. "Oppositional Defiant Disorder", characterized by “anti-authority behaviorsâ€) which are not conducive to efficiency and effectiveness in the system will be “discovered†and diagnosed as mental illness or defect needing therapeutic and/or medical treatment. In short increasing numbers of us become definably insane, deficient or incompetent as the system becomes less social and humane, and so ever less capable of tolerating human normality.
@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@
(9/26/08) Under slavery you survive so that you can work for someone else so that you can survive... Under capitalism you work for someone else so that you can survive so that you can work for someone else.
@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@
(9/18/08) The designation of rightful possession is the most important thing that any society does and is therefore the last thing which should be entrusted to the state. Furthermore, as this is always, both in theory and in practice, the first social power and function to be forfeited to the state (indeed this is the principal reason for the very organization of the state) even by those claiming to be libertarians, and as this must be done only in order to impose such designations in law which are against the common interest, all states and legal proprietary codes are therefore illegitimate antisocial institutions enshrining and administrating systems of economic dependency and must be abolished.
@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@
(9/04/08) In order to achieve independence from society one must acquire and maintain the dependency of a multitude of other individuals, and if society is large enough, the mutual support of others who have, or aspire to have, such or some degree of independence for themselves. There is at work here an independence/dependence duality. The real opposite of dependency is not independence (rugged individualism is a bourgeois myth resulting from the capitalist organization of the forces of production) but interdependence, and this is true on what ever scale we may choose to consider.
@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@
(9/03/08) The most fundamental form of political oppression is the legal imposition of systems of economic dependency.
@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@
(9/01/08) We may make things better, and yet still not make them right. And so long as things are wrong they will tend, in general and overall, to get continually worse.
@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@
(8/31/08) Privatism dissolves the natural identity of interests among a people, which in turn gives occasion to the artificial identities of interest offered by church and state.
@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@
(8/31/08) Fascism is to capitalism as monarchism is to feudalism, its logical and inevitable conclusion.
@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@
(Before 8/31/08) Under the market system most of us are worth more in parts then as wholes. The combined value of our organs, cells, genes, skin tissue, blood etc. etc. is greater then our monetary value as human beings at any given moment, and, for many of us, our potential lifetime savings (though not our production of expropriated "surplus value").
@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@
The essential function of the state is to prevent communities of people from rejecting the legitimacy of possessions they deem antisocial and destructive, which consist and act of, by and for the interests of those who wish to hold such possessions against the equality, freedom and peace of the people. This is the basis of all legal or civil property codes whether the aspiring elite are political or judicial, religious or bureaucratic, and whether privatist or state collectivist. Everything else the state does is subservient and/or secondary to this.
@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@
Fascism can be expected to arise from corporatism just as corporatism can be expected to evolve from capitalism.
@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@
Wanting "less government" is like wanting less cancer. A state is a state, no matter how small.
@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@
The basic tendencies of Libertarian Socialism can be found throughout history wherever people have lived free of both private and public power. Anarchist Communism and Syndicalism are the most fully developed and self-aware (and I think complementary) expressions of this tendency.
@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@
The organization of human life requires both individualism and collectivism. While the capitalist republic meets this criteria it does so in a backwards and wrong headed fashion, individualizing the means of social organization and socializing matters of individual conscience and will under the state and tending towards a less formal collectivism under organized religion. Anarchism advocates
the opposite of this; socializing the means of social organization and individualizing matters of individual conscience and will, with the understanding that doing the first will aid in the development of sociality (as socioeconomy is the experiential basis for its development) thus allowing the unhindered development and expression of the second, which in turn then may feed back into the evolution of society, with this optimally free individuality contributing to the self-organization of collective human life.
@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@
As the state is the negation of society so too statism is the negation of socialism.
@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@
Where there is no equality the people are divided into masters and servants; the masters rule over the servants and so there is no liberty. Where there is no liberty and one is ruled by another the people are divided again into masters and servants and so there is no equality. Equality and liberty go forever hand in hand and are mutually supportive, one cannot exist without the other. Anyone who would have us believe that we must sacrifice the one in exchange for the other seeks to take them both.
@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@
It is a simple and unavoidable fact of life that we are all going to die. As surely as I am writing this, and as you are reading it, we will one day be experiencing our own lives coming to their end. We have no choice in the fact of life and death, but what we do with them is ours to decide. Whether or not we give the matter any conscious consideration, what we do with the time we have is what we have chosen to live for, and what we choose to live for is, in the end, what we have chosen to die for.
