Melt Wreckage

About Me

Melt Wreckage is a heavily medicated deviant who crash-landed on Earth after escaping the totalitarian rule of the Amphibian overlords on Pluto. Half-Los Angelino and Half-Viking, Melt crawled from a shredded and charred pile of metallic remains, tore off his clothes, and slithered into the Norwegian gutter. Having resided in a variety of ludicrous (albeit fabulous) locations, including Iceland, London, Florida, Germany, Los Angeles, San Francisco, Norway, and the Sixth Circle of Dante's Inferno - Melt Wreckage (born in 1980) finally got his act together and focused his energy and attention on art and music. I invite men and women (and chimpanzees) from across this fine Globe to partake in his demented output. My paintings and music will be made available for sale on the official Melt Wreckage website shortly. If you feel so inclined, go ahead and buy something! Learn from the cockroach.
Since resurfacing, Melt Wreckage has partaken in numerous homegrown musical endeavors. Melt Wreckage began recording his own simple compositions on audio cassette and 8mm film in the late 80s, but eventually upgraded to personal computer in the mid-90s. Since then, he has continued writing, recording, performing - albeit with varying frequency. In the early part of the current decade, Melt enjoyed a fruitful union with the experimental "glam rap" quintet Four Monkeys and a Shepherd, under which he adopted the moniker Monkey 2.
Following a four-year hiatus, Melt Wreckage decided to form a new musical project, and completed work on a solo-album called "TUNDRAGE" in late 2007. Melt began work on a follow-up EP in March of 2008. The EP, called "Inorganic Sludge", was completed in May of 2008, and fuses elements of dark electro, industrial, and 80s synth pop.
Melt Wreckage is currently laboring to complete his third EP, entitled "Absurd Family", which further explores moral ambiguity, ethical depravity, and human/non-human hybrids and family unions. With a little luck, the record will be completed by Midsummer's Eve - and be made available for sale on the iTunes store. The entire Melt Wreckage discography will also be for sale, at a ridiculously low price.
He draws influence and inspiration from a variety of disparate sources - aggrotech, thrash metal, glam, 80s synth pop, late-80s rap, black metal, industrial rock, late-80s video game music, funk, 70s/80s punk, and gothic metal. His equipment is limited to a single electric guitar, synth and percussive software, and his sporadic vocalizations. Occasionally, he records the slapping of his bare chest and oiled stomach for additional percussion.
Melt Wreckage has decided to make his songs available on Myspace, free of charge - he would be delighted if you enjoyed his output, and invites you to savor his heinous filth, preferably with ales, wines, and Valium in grasp - naked, euphoric, and wallowing in inebriated debauchery. May Melt Wreckage provide the soundtrack for your upcoming flights into bizarre, colorful, and slime-soaked hedonism...
