"a bubbly happy chap who always makes me laugh and who is very genuine. its good yah? " (Sarah)!Bio:Simon David Rose was born in a hospital in sunny Hemel Hempstead, Hertfordshire on 24th October 1987. On October 25th 1987, Hemel Hempstead Hospital was bulldozed and a block of flats was built, this was to be the start by which things would progress. As a child, Simon spent many a day running round chasing dogs and pulling their tails, sitting playing the piano from the age of 2, or bouncing up and down while listening to Michael Bolton tracks on Dad's huge headphones. He then moved to Dunstable, Bedfordshire where he spent his early childhood years. The first day at school came round rather too quickly at "St Georges School".. where many a time Simon fell down the 24-ish step wooden staircase, resulting in minor injuries and permanent brain damage. Simon also played the lead as "Pinnochio" in the school play at the age of 6, performing in beautiful fashion the trials and tribulations of the little wooden puppet. Unfortunately, Simon also drove a go-kart (cunningly disguised as a boat) into the set, causing a rather large whale to fall on top of him which further caused minor injuries and permanent brain damage At the age of 8, Simon went on his biggest adventure yet, moving down to the sunny south coast of the UK to Bournemouth, Dorset. As soon as he came down south, he was plunged into the deep end with a new school, no friends (after leaving them all behind back in Dunstable), and a completely new life. Obviously living by the seaside was an exciting prospect for Simon who, on his first outing to the beach and with a distinct lack of swimwear, ran into the sea in his underwear alone. Little did Simon know was that the family had bought no spare underwear down and it was all in the removal truck, and he had an induction at his new school that evening. From the off, it was always going to be an interesting childhood. Skip forward 3 years and at the age of 11, Simon left West Moors Middle School and after sitting the selection tests and (by fluke) having passed, he began his first day at Bournemouth School For Boys in September 1999. Again, Simon had a completely new start with no boys from his old school. Fortunately, his distinct lack of social skills and comedy did not heed his progress of finding a few mates in the first few weeks and gained the admiration of many people in his class. Breaktimes were always an exciting time with games out in the copse adjacent to the school with his friends. Many a game of Manhunt, It, and "Bases" were enjoyed, including building bows and arrows out of twigs and cunningly hidden trip wires under leaves. Such exploits led to "The Gadget Gang" being formed who to this day are renowned for their ingenuity in creating completely bizarre and pointless things out in the forests surrounding the school. As years passed, Simon began to be called "Si" as he wished to be more hip and trendy. Unfortunately this plan failed as all who knew him still knew the dodgy kid underneath this new moniker. Si also became interested in the fairer sex, but unfortunately failed persistantly to get any attention. However as "The Gadget Gang" began to disband and maturity began to increase, his luck changed slightly and Si went out with people for lengthy relationships, the longest of which was one day! Fortunately for Si, his love attention was elsewhere, to be found in the world of music. His constant practise of his piano and guitar paid off with a performance at the Bournemouth School Bandbash 2006 with his band, much to critical acclaim and rave reviews, regardless of the fact they messed up the last track completely! The summer of 2006 arrived and marked the start of a great holiday for Si. Despite the unfortunate events of his "summer escape" and first holiday on his own to Spain, Si came back to fireworks, beer, guitar playing, boats and mates on the beaches of Bournemouth under the hot summer sun. Si also found out he got his dream job as an Air Traffic Controller and as a result spent quality time with his friends who he gained over the past 7 years before they all left to university. As Si moved to the College of Air Traffic Control, a whole new portion of his life was beginning along with meeting people a lot older and more experienced than himself. However, due to his penchant for wearing scarfs during the winter.. and during warm days with short sleeved shirts (bizarrely), Si began to be called "Scarf" by absolutely everybody.. leading to the nickname you see today This brings us to the present day. Some would say that Si has grown into a man of decency, credibility and honesty with a wicked sense of humour and a constant smile on his face. They would be right. I have known Simon from the very day he was born and it has been a pleasure to write this short abridged biography of his life. He is a great person, and an asset to all of his friends and family. Just a shame he's a bit of a tosser really! Love Si xx
