Katie Michaelson was born in Melbourne, Australia and comes from an incredibly musical family, she has been singing around the piano since she was 5 and writing songs and playing guitar live on stage since the age of 15 and loving it! Her favourite artists would be Michelle Branch, Sheryl Crow, Natalie Imbruglia, Faith Hill, John Mayer, Rob Thomas, Gwen Stefani, Gavin DeGraw, Maroon 5 and of course The Beatles, to name but a few.
Over the last 12 months Katie has been extremely busy writing and recording tracks for her debut album (while performing 200+ live shows). Katie launched out with her debut EP titled SWIM (like a maniac) containing 4 great original tracks (available online at www.katiemichaelson.com ) and has now finished recording another 4 new songs called Always, Otherside, Someday, Someday and Neon Star. These songs were all written and co-produced by Katie and show the great depth of things to come from this very talented young artist.
Music is Katies life, when she Is not performing live shows, she Is in the studio writing songs for herself or other great new acts. Her all-time goal in the coming years is to be touring around the world and playing live to as many fans as possible. Katie has also recently written some very cool new pop/dance songs that are being recorded by several artists in the USA, UK, Australia & Holland. She is a prolific songwriter and looks forward to writing with as many artists as possible, from up-coming acts to already established artists.
Katie won the Best Pop Artist at the 2004 Musicoz Awards, she also won the Best New Launched Artist award on the 2005 Star Radio Music Awards, Katie is the official face of Innoxa cosmetics Young Solution range and is also sponsored by Cole Clark Guitars.
