Lost Boys Of Penzance, The

About Me

The LBoP track Land of Milk and Money was selected as Garageband.com's Instrumental Rock Track Of The Day for October 28, 2007!

Testing 1, 2, 3.... Check 1, check 2.... Jeez, is this thing ON?!??

Oh, oh...OK. The Lost Boys of Penzance (LBoP) is a consortium of studio musicians based in Encinitas, CA where a world-class surfing spot (Swami's) inspires the boys' surf music jones. The group is headed up by multi-instrumentalist and songwriter Jonathan Villegas. Check out our official website here.
The Lost Boys of Penzance can be heard on UK label Cordelia Records' Beyond The Sea , a top-rated compilation album featuring 26 surf rock artists from around the world putting their own unique stamp on cover songs from the NOT the usual suspects list. LBoP submitted two "sides" to Cordelia Records. The "A" side was a version of Neil Young's Cinnamon Girl. The "B" side was a version of The Disadvantages Of You...originally a TV jingle for a Benson & Hedges cigarette commercial around 1967 (US). As it sometimes happens in this biz, the "B" side became the "Hit". LBoP's Disadvantages... was aired twice on KFJC 89.7 FM (California Bay Area) including Phil Dirt's extended edition "farewell" radio show on 9/24/05.
LBoP was featured on LuxuriaMusic.com (on Paul Kennedy's Nightscape show) and is currently on the playlist of three stations on "The World's Largest Internet Radio Network" Live365.com. Moreover, KCR (San Diego) DJ Clint Beachwood has played LBoP tracks on his Day At The Beach radio show as well as WRUW FM 91.1 DJ Jon The Hodad on his Revenge of a Hodad radio show in Cleveland, OH.

Meanwhile behind the scenes, The Lost Boys of Penzance are working on their debut album. Unfortunately, LBoP are doing a "Tom Scholtz" (Boston) and the album project is taking a hell of a Long Time to finish. The album is titled All Over The Map and is scheduled for release this year. Advance tracks from the album were rolled out to the media throughout 2006. Stay tuned....!
