Hades Blues Works-1970

Live Recording-1970 Bay Area Blues Jam Band

About Me

We're very glad we found this recording and that John Cuniberti (Plant Studio in Sausalito, CA mastering engineer and drummer on this recording as well as being Joe Satriani's producer and engineer) was able to restore it to the quality you will now hear. This was a very hot jazz-rock-fusion blues band that became quite well-known and sought after in the San Francisco Bay Area in the early 70's. Hades opened for such legends as Joan Baez, Dan Hicks and His Hot Licks, Charlie Musselwhite and many others who traveled the "east bay music scene." During 1970/71 the four of us (all around 18-20 years old) rehearsed all day, performed every night 7 days a week. This was an original band. This recording is from a live show at the Babylon Club in Berkeley California which later became the famous Long Branch Saloon, where we also played. Have a great listen, best nice and loud! This is vintage stuff!!! Two Gibson 335's through Fender Twin Reverbs, Fender Jazz Bass through Ampeg, Roger Drums.
