I suppose I'm a rather eclectic individual with interests and passions that may seem an odd mix to some. I have a very tight Italian American family and they have always been and always will be my rock. Despite these close ties with home and family, I LOVE to travel and explore. I like to be challenged. Languages fascinate me; particularly because of the freedom they provide to meet new and interesting people. Presently, I speak French, but I'm confident that I'll learn Spanish and Zulu someday soon! I adore dancing, especially Salsa! I am fun-loving, energetic and happy most of the time. I consider myself an artist, although I've been so busy the past few years that I've barely had time for drawing. I am a serious, intellectual and academic type...maybe a nerd. I am always driven to know more and I feel responsible to use that knowledge to make the world a better place. Yes, I guess I'm a dreamer too. I'm passionate about my work with children and I believe that it is through loving and educating our youth, especially those that are underprivileged, that we can begin to combat the ills of this world (poverty, racism, sexism, xenophobia, homophobia etc.) and level the playing field to create a more equitable society. I think compassion is what is lacking most in the world today and I feel lucky to have such loving friends and family. Speaking of love, I am madly in love with my boyfriend who brings me so much joy…even across the oceans.
