About Me

Drummer Richard 'Richie' Meehan

ggggrrr!!!!zzzz!!crasher!!baaannnnggggger!!!! Versatile & reliable, a truly metronomic hero of the band. Started out aged 11, taught from age 13 by Billy Williams of Panama Jazz Band fame; met a great bass player, Charlie Fraser. Went on to study music at Liverpool Community College, under Dave Joseph, where he learned to read & do session work, with Theatre, Big Band, Prog Rock work etc. First live band 'Personal Eyes', with Jim & Denny Dowd (lightning fast fret man) then 'Unsung Heroes' along with Jim (v) Muzz (g) and Jon da Bass (respect! JG Mate!) & then Control - with the Cave men (gits) & PMcDonnell (keys). Through Charlie's links, did great work with Josie & the Jazzmatics & Doctor Doctor. Chiba Sprawl followed (with Dave & Stu), producing cds and performing nationally (see links on Dave 'Walkin' Bass below) and played the pub circuit locally with the popular three piece suited cover band, Braindrops.

Vocals 'Jim' Meehan

Still perhaps to find his true range, continues to push them cords whenever poss. Short spell with Minas Tirith then nout till Personal Eyes, followed by Control then Unsung Heroes. Those were days of making words up once the key elements of the story were told - perhaps not the best approach but playing original pacy rock stuff was so on the edge and different to the stock music of the late 80s. Now more measured, reflecting the tightness of the band and complexity of Lazy's set, is proud to have pulled these 4 session men together to entertain you. Looking forward to exciting times ahead with this band

Guitar Paul 'Fingers Muzzer' Murray

truly the laziest member of the band! - "if I could do this all the time, I would"- there's nothing better than the sound of a guitar through a fully cranked valve amp ! - started off in Unsung Heroes late 80's with Jim & Rich (& JTB) then a couple of acoustic gigs with Karl Webb (Al Dimeola,John Mclaughlin - meeting of the spirits covers) didn't gig again until 2008 (Lazy) thanks to Jim and his enthusiasm im back in the game (but with a lot of catching up to do)-people say you should have 'no regrets' but I regret all the time wasted when I could have been out there playing live ! I'm certainly not wasting this opportunity / I feel a fire burning up inside me again and i'm ready to release the flames - be prepared to open your ears your eyes and your minds !

Guitar Stu 'Stones' Preston:-)

Well I am just happy rocking in a great band, hey and playing the stuff I love to play, you can't beat it. I picked up my guitar again 5 years ago after a long long break from playing I just play now how I feel at the time and try and play from the soul. I started out with Rich and Dave in Chiba Sprawl along with Ade Jackson and Danny Woods and a short experience with the Subterraneans fronted by the talented and unusual (John Byran/Johann ) but I am now living my dream I just love 70's rock and the chance to play live and with a bunch of fantastic musicians and together we invoke the spirit of rock, then explode into a million pieces.

Bass Dave 'Walkin' Walker

First played with Richie and Jim in about 2 'Control' rehearsals as a guitarist. Joined Frank Sparks (previously of 'Ex Post Facto') in 'The Apartment' as bassist with Danny Woods on guitar and Charlie on Drums. When 'The Apartment' split shortly afterwards, Danny and I formed 'Something Wonderful' with Pete and (briefly) Graham (both from 'Control') on the keys and guit respectively, and Ged on drums.
While 'Something Wonderful' was happening I studied music for a year at Greenbank College (now Tescos, Smithdown Road). I also had a foray into twin bassline live Dance music with Pete (Keys), Danny (bass) and John (drums) in 'Appul', and as a drummer in 'Gonzo' with Danny (vox), Pete (bass) and Graham (guit). I was a drummer in a punk band somewhere around this point... but I can't remember any of the details.
After Ged left 'Something Wonderful', Richie joined on drums and (unfortunately) Pete emigrated to London. The band was quickly reborn as 'Analog' and released the CD EP "Come Get Some". Let me know if you want a copy of that 'cos I've still got half a box of them in the garage :/
Soon after this Ade Jackson from 'Loop Garu' and 'Moonjuice' joined as Lead Vox and Guitar and the band became ' Chiba Sprawl ' and produced an album length promo CD . Stu joined 'Chiba Sprawl' in 2005, but after a slow year in 2007, the band started to lose focus and in 2008 I joined Stu and Richie in 'Lazy'.
If Pete ever moved back from London, we would find the keyboard parts easier to handle!
