I am MY SENIOR YEAR, the next qualitative, ethnographic, life-story documentary film project from award-winning producer, director Tom McPhee.
My Senior Year will be composed through the distillation of 10,000 “Let’s Hear It!†interviews of people 60 years and older filmed over 12 months throughout North America.
Using his unique short-form interview style 3QU, Tom McPhee will lead a creative effort incorporating the internet and the world film festival circuit to provide a more powerful voice to this important, emerging demographic that needs to be heard!
3QU is short for 3 Questions for/from yoU. 3QU will give seniors the power to ask and answer important questions of the day, enabling everyone to participate in the flow of information. My Senior Year and it’s internet companion, “Let’s Hear It!†seek to open a new window of opportunity and better understand the growing senior community.
TOM MCPHEE made his feature directorial debut in 2007 with the now multi-award winning documentary, AN AMERICAN OPERA. Tom has been an innovator in the film, event, multimedia and television industries for more than 15 years, creating, producing and directing television shows as well as producing an independent feature film with cult icon Bruce Campbell. Tom created Flixtour, the premiere college film tour that traveled college campuses during the late nineties. Flixtour established the venue for Kevin Smith’s successful college tour and writer-director Paul Feig conceived and wrote the critically acclaimed TV show Freaks and Geeks while on Flixtour
