Biography
To semplify everything and without making this annoying we decided to publish an interview with everything you need to know about Daniel Decay
DANIELDECAY.COM OFFICIAL INTERVIEW (Original English Version)
** Hi Daniel, are you ready for your interview?
Yes, let's go! ;-)
** Tell me about the origins of your passion.
Hmm, that was a mad coincidence, i think. As i was 12 i hated music so much...! Of course, that was my music teachers guilt. It became passion when I started listening trance music in Germany, especially Blank&Jones, Mauro Picotto and Paul Van Dyk. It was love.
** It happened that you got into the business...
I will never forget it. I buyed a magazine about informatics with a bundled software: lemonboy. It was a semplified version of Fruityloops. I learned much about grooves and sounds, it was amazing. Lemonboy was a very limited software so i started to use Cubase VST 5. I was totally caught by this "hobby" so i decided to buy a complete dj system with turntables...
Later i met Salvo G, through a schoolmate (his cousin). Salvo was an experienced sicilian dj and i had learned much about composing, so we thought it could be the ideal collaboration.
** Go on...
We become even more professional, we learned very much about composing and i think we was the perfect hardstyle duo. We bought some new studio components, like monitors, synths and other stuff. After the first vinyl single, we decided to create a second studio to guarantee the maximum flexibility for our needings.
** You are part of the Sicilian Hardstylers, what is that?
The Sicilian Hardstylers crew is a product of Salvo G's mind. Sicily is not very advanced in electronic music.. we localize only a few collaborations and a stagnant underground movement. The idea was to create a powerful hardstyle production group to improve the main charakteristics of our island. Now the Sicilian Hardstylers are a well known reality and we try to kick harder every day ;-)
** What experiences do you have in the electronic music scene?
I produce hardstyle / handsup / vocal trance. I'm a disc-jockey, playing mainly hardstyle (with some trancy contaminations) and i worked as radio dj. I made one of my best experiences as editor for The Dance Web, the nr 1 electronic magazine about dance/house/techno.
Now i know very much people in the scene and i started collaborations with many european and international dj's.
** Something about your live sets? Which was the exibition you can never forget?
The Street Parade in the heart of Catania. I will never forget this shocking experience. I played with some of the best sicilian dj's on the Sicilian Hardstylers Truck. I played in the Tunnel Club (Hamburg, Germany) and it was nice too ;-)
** What do you want to say to the party people?
Enjoy without drugs!
