Kings Crown CD
I have been playing drums since early childhood. I've played in such bands as Axeworthy, The Strokers, Hot Trigger, and others. My new band is Kings Crown, a Hard Rockin' Christian four peice with our first CD due for release in early Spring of '08.
My father was Dick Proctor, who was the drummer for The Glenn Miller Group, The Continentals, and The Kings of Swing. During his career he considered to be one of the greatest drummers alive according to Downbeat Magazine and those who saw him play. He rubbed elbows with the great Buddy Rich, Doc Sevrinsen and Ed Shawnesee of Johnny Carson's Tonight Show, as well as other top drummers of the era. My mother Betty was also very musical. She sang Jazz and toured a bit including a tour of Europe.
For all of my life I have lived Rock-n-Roll, and everything that comes with that. I've been through alot and been down several dead end streets. Never one to shy away from a good time, I found myself at a point in my life where I became totally uninspired to play. I didn't know if I would ever play again. A friend invited me to a church service and my life began to change. I gave my life to God and became saved. I began to feel better than I ever had before. The strong desire to play music began to come back to me. A phone call to my long time bandmate Dadion, and a heart to heart conversation about playing together again- this time for God and all the right reasons, got the ball rolling. God then blessed me when I first picked up the sticks again after several years, I felt the Holy Spirit come over me, and I began to play like I had never stopped. Dadion already had a great bass player in Mike Temple, and in a matter of weeks we found our singer Eddie Sparrow. I honestly feel this band is a product of devine intervention, and I thank God every day for allowing me to Rock again- this time for HIM.
