Niffty first started djing in late 1999 he then moved to England in 2000 where he attended lessons at the Technics DJ Academy in Manchester. He then traveled through England perfecting his mixing and playing venues such as The Dry Bar in Manchester and Madame Jo Jo’s in London. When he returned to JHB he became a resident DJ at C3 and also mixed at the One Love Movement parties and other hip hop events. Since then he has been mastering the arts of DJing ,Scratching and Beat Juggling at venues like Carfax,Tempos,Truth , Songwriters Club,The Armchair Theatre,London Calling,The Bassline,Zula Bar,Red Cafe,Roxys and many more.He has mixed on Yfm Radio where he won a battle on Bad Boy T and Lee’s Harambe show beating some of the countries best hip hop DJ’s.He has played on that show several times since and has also played on AK’s the Joint numerous times. He was one of the first DJ’s on the TV show The Shiz Nizz. He has also played on The O Boma TV show on Channel O DSTV other TV appearances include Jip, Stook,GoTV, Go Zone TV.In 2005 DJ Niffty and DJ Redwood decided to merge forming the Idol Hands Table Band which is now one of South Africa’s most well respected turntable crews which has played gigs all over the country and received a standing ovation at the Hype Magazine party in April 2006.In 2007 the Idol Hands won all the dj battle's in the African Hip Hop Indaba.Which qualified them to compete in the World DMC's's.They put S.A on the turntablist map by competing in all three DMC events and let thee world know S.A is coming up.He is now the 2008 and 2009 JHB DMC Champion.He is also the DJ for Top SA rapper Obita and has played shows such as the Miss South Africa Pageant and a event sponsored by MTN feat Wycleff Jean(Fugees).After already playing along side some of the world best DJ’s like DJ Craze(3 Time DMC battle winner)DJ Woody(ITF and Vestex champion and inventor of the Woodpecker scratch)Tim Westwood(world famous radio 1 hip hop DJ from London,Wordworth,DJ Krush,Killa Kella.Niffty has already begun writing himself into South African and the Worlds Hip Hop history books and looks set to be rocking dance floors world wide for many years to come...
