I am here for Friends and Networking

About Me

I may be getting older, but I refuse to grow up. I never outgrew motorcycles and plan to enjoy them until I simply can't. Then I don't know what I'll do....sit on the shoreline of a lake and go fishing, I guess.I like music too. I once aspired to be a musician, but I was hungrier for food and rent (and motorcycles) than I was for stardom. Having some talent might have helped a little bit too, I suppose. I still have some of my instruments, 3 guitars. A little rusty at playing the darned things, but I am slowly working the calluses back up as it all comes back to me. maybe not ALL, but most. I wrote a couple of songs many years ago. Maybe with all the new technology these days, I'll do a recording of them and upload them. I lost my voice in the mid eighties, and for some dang reason, it just came back all of a sudden last fall. I better use it before it goes away again!Photography is another hobby of mine and I like to run a helmet video cam sometimes when a group of us goes trail riding on our dualsport motorcycles.I'm pretty laid back, but at the same time kind of blunt, with a dry sense of humor. Once in a while I am kooky. No drinkee, no smokee, no drugee...

the old fly fishing shop

I have too much time on my hands when I am out and about; time to kill, actually. Today I was in a position to do some more time killing in the middle of the city, when I came across a small fly fish...

The Strange Store

I thought that I had seen everything, but today I saw a store in a shopping mall and the only sign on the outside of it read "HALLOWEEN". Really....a whole store devoted to nothing other than Hallowe...

Finally, the excellent night ride

The first time I ever experienced riding trails at night was in August of 2007. It was great. We went up into the Laguna mountains and had part of the club volunteer for grill duty, so that we had a...

The Cool Desert

What a difference a couple of weeks can make. I can still remember the 103 degree heat at 10:30 pm on our club night ride. (And the black eye I got....) Anyway, it's just been too hot to go on any s...

The lovely desert

After last months disappointing night ride in the mountains (one of the crew broke his leg in a bunch of places) I wasn't so sure that I wanted to go on another one. After all, this would be in the d...

Sticky Bidness

It's been slow here in trailriding land since the big Troy Meadows trip to Sequoia National Forest. A little dualsport ride here or there in the hot weather. We had a night ride where one of the rid...

A Mountain Trailride (or how I spent 9 hours going 50 miles)

I had last weekend off, so I spent it up to no good, riding on one of Digdug and Mickey's epic trailrides in the San Bernardino Mountains near Lake Arrowhead. There were a dozen riders participating ...
