Missing Yeremi Vargas

Yeremi Jose Vargas Suarez. Missing from Los Llanos Vecianaria - Santa Lucia de Tirajana - Gran Canaria - Canari islands - Spain while playing outside his grandmother’s house with his cousins. Missing since march 10th 2007, saturday at 13.30 hours. Yerimi is 7 years old. He is described as “very shy”.His parents are Ithaisa Suárez and Juan Francisco Vargas. Yeremi’s mother , who is 24, was traumatised and had to be sedated following his disappearance.“They have taken my son and are doing something awful to him.”The Guardia Civil are now reported to be searching for clues among the 100 or so paedophiles known to be living on the islands.There are reported to be a list of a dozen or so suspects, half of them registered paedophiles and the rest who have had differences of opinion with Yeremi’s family.Three lines of investigation remain open – Firstly that the boy may have fallen into a well or drain, although as searches continue this is now less likely. Secondly a kidnapping to get at the family in some way, with the chance that the kidnapper has been prompted to kill the child, given the widespread media attention in the case. It’s also possible that the real objective of the kidnapper was one of the cousins playing with Yeremi who was taken by mistake. And Thirdly, the chance that the child was taken by a paedophile, but police admit that no arrest is likely in the near future.No trace has been found of the seven-year-old boy so far, but police remain confident that he is still on the island of Gran Canaria.
