About Me

MyGen Profile Generator

Hailing from the mid-western gateway city of St. Louis, singer/songwriter Daniel Jason Deweese ("D.J." to friends) climbed to the top of the regional acoustic rock scene in 2006 with his debut album, The Red Room. Comparisons to David Grey and Ryan Adams indicate the intimate sincerity of D.J.'s music, though much of his work includes an easy-going Americana influence that gives it a unique appeal.

In January 2009, DJ released two very different albums showcasing divergent interests in a genre-busting free for all. The band's 2009 release, Bring the Thunder, layers heartfelt vocals with a range of sometimes austere, sometimes intricate accompaniments to create poignant and unforgettable americana / acoustic country influenced music. The 2009 release Dire Illusion features 10 tracks of mind blowing rocktronica and innovative instrumentals, including grinding electric guitars and pulsing beats. All tracks are available at iTunes, as well as at djdeweese.com for immediate download. With growing interest from podcasters and indie radio show promotion, don't be surprised if you find DJ Deweese at the top of the charts and beyond.
