Simon Ramsden - Drummer Liverpool

About Me

I am a professional drummer based in Liverpool (originally from Huddersfield). I play many styles and regularly play with other bands as a stand-in/dep drummer - I've had the pleasure of playing with several Liverpool bands including; The Dark Horses, Pete Best Band, The Blue Meanies, The Skylarks and Karl Lornie and from further afield Eight Miles High (Rugby) and Come Together (Worcester). In 2001 I played to 105,000 in Lubbock, Texas with a show called 'The Beatles: A Musical Celebration'. A few years ago I was lucky enough to record at Abbey Road Studios in London in Studio Number 2 made famous by the Beatles. I started playing drums in 1973 and my first professional engagement as a drummer was in 1978 for which I got paid £6, of course I earn double that now. Previous bands over the years have included: Shooter (50's/60's group from Merseyside), Banned On The Run (Top Macca tribute band based in West Yorkshire), Claude Sword (mad Liverpool garage threesome - www.myspace.com/claudesword), The B-Alls (brit-pop/60's cover band), Benny Kravitz Experience (90's Pub rock), Sloth Frenzy (lounge lizards), The Jaguers (Huddersfield born Beatles/60's group - www.myspace.com/thejaguers), High Jinks (80's caberat/show band), Negative Exit (Late 70's punk band from Huddersfield) and even before that I was a memeber of the Hudersfield Jazz Orchestra.
