THE LEWIS SISTERS
The Lewis Sisters grew up near the outskirts of Nashville,Tn., on their family’s small horse farm. Born the daughters of a songwriter, Amy (22) and Madeline (17) began their musical journey at a young age. Singing in church and creating their own music in the car on road trips eventually lead them to love and pursue the art of songwriting and performing as a trio.
The Lewis Sisters’ crowd- pleasing shows frosted with familial harmonies and witty sisterly banter have now entertained both large and small audiences of all ages from Nashville to Seattle and all the way down to Austin, Tx.
Intricate melodies and well-crafted lyrics weave through rootsy, soulful guitar rhythms to set the mood for stories everyone can relate to. By switching off lead vocalists, they are able to showcase each girls’ unique vocal texture from song to song, eventually bringing them all back together for a blend of super-tight sisterly harmony. Among the girls’ ever-changing arsenal of acoustic instruments are Guitars, Mandolin, Dobro, egg shakers and a tambourine!
In 2008 they won the CATZ Radio contest in Nashville TN. With their song “Beware the Windâ€, using the version they recorded at the Cash Cabin Studio, produced by John Carter Cash.......Performance date: October 14, 2009......
The Lewis Sisters were amazing. Very sweet and professional. We would love to bring them back. Our number wasn’t as good as expected, but they made it work. :)Tabitha Byrne , Assistant Director for UC Programs , The University of Texas San Antonio, TX
