These two personal musicians have been close friends for some three years now and they both have quite different backrounds as music makers. While Elin is dancing on the beautiful brown neck baroque viola, Jonttu is deep diving somewhere in the bottomless sea of improvised music.
One day at the darkest time of the year 2007 in rainy Gothenburg, Elin asked Jonttu to come and play with her. She had an idea of recording one of her pieces and then send it to their close friend in Finland, as a little present. Well, time passed by and they realized that they were playing in the same band. Among that beautiful piece by Elin, many other pieces were created by both of the creatures. The band was, and is, called COMMON CREATURE.
Their concept is as simple as: to tell a story. Second, to create a strong and personal feeling/atmosphere in every tune they play. This happens when they combine two strong and personal voices and a warm unique sound of acoustic bass guitar together, colouring the whole with some extra sounds there and there. All this can't happen without Elin's original lyrics and Jonttu's "bass-odd-pop" -tunes. Remaining the laughter and joy but not being afraid of the sad and bad feelings, keeping it real by going deep, saying things straight and out loud, searching and experimenting, being open, dancing, having a dinner at Elin's place, travelling, partying, raining and shining, and humming:
"In the end you / need to rely on / that there is one thing / there is happiness." IF YOU'RE INTERESTED IN BUYING THE WHOLE ALBUM VISIT OUR HOME PAGE! WWW.COMMONCREATURE.NET
