OPEN DECKS @ BEORMA BAR

(upstairs in the Guild)
on Tuesday 27th February!
So bring along your favourite CDs and have a go on the decks!
The city sadly famed for the rise of heavy metal music in Britain....It is also the place that spawned the Electric Light Orchestra, Pram, Editors, Ocean Colour Scene and the Wonderstuff (and doubtless many great bands to come).
Our job is to bring together all those independent music lovers at Birmingham University and to harness all that raw talent that steps through the door every September, be it DJs, singers, bands or just people that bloody love music and know how to wiggle that indie leg!
We also arrange gigs and events throughout the year for you all to enjoy including club nights, trips to other lands (Manchester/Sheffield/London) and good old fashioned gigs. What nice people we are, eh!
After a successful year, look forward to an even better one.
FRESHERS WEEK 2006
coming 25.09.06
Look out for us at freshers and join the love-in. Or just come chat to us about Smiths lyrics, the tragedy of Grandaddy's demise, the wonderous rise of indie-rave. Whatever floats your boat, you are bound to find someone who shares your opinion!
'But what do I get when I join?' I hear you cry.....Well here it is.
* Free entry to ALL Barfly clubnights throughout September and October. This includes:
* We Get Kicks
(indie-pop and scuzzy electro on alternate Saturdays)
* Jump Around (new '90s clubnight every Tuesday!)
* Taking Back Monday (for all those who can't help tapping their feet to a little Panic! At the Disco)
* Destination (punk, rock and alternative tunes every Friday)
Then after September and October you will be able to get into all these clubnights for the exclusive price of only £2 when you show your indiesoc card!
*Our members will also have exclusive access to a small stash of tickets for Barfly gigs. (*10-20 will be reserved for indiesoc members for one week of any gig going on sale)
This still isn't enough? Well we are in negotiations with many other top Birmingham clubnights including Ressurection and Panic! to get the best deals for our members.
So come along at freshers and join up! Believe us it will be worth it!
Keep your eyes and ears out for further news on our freshers events!
