..Jeepers creepers. This has got to be the best local metal CD I've ever heard. Betray The Emissary, from Cape Town, belt it out like their black hearts depend on it. If you enjoy bands like As Blood Runs Black and Darkest Hour, go to myspace.com/betraytheemissary right now. The production is earsplitting. And everything from the Cd cover to the band's Myspace layout is 100% professional and first rate. I have to see drummer Craig McGregor live before i die. Just to see if he lives up tp the genius on the album.

I have been listening to Betray The Emissary for about two years, and once I heard that they had released their first full album, I had to get a copy. I bought the CD and listened to it for three days non-stop wherever I went. Then I came to and had realised a week had gone by.
This has got to be by far the best local metal CD around! Everything from the CD cover design to the production of their music on it is mindblowing. They spent two years on their album and you can hear and see they put a 100% effort into it. Its hard not to sit back and zone out in the aura that their music gives off.
The album consists of eight tracks which were recorded at Burning Tone Studios. One of the really awesome things about the album is that from start to finish there is a constant flow by means of their song transitions. Another kick-ass thing is their eighth track - "...The man I Could Have Been" is a continuation of their first track - "if Not For..." which i might add, is an insane heartcrushing song to start an album off.
The real truth is that every track is a favorite on this ablum for me. these guys are zen masters in their musical fields. Betray The Emissary and this album is a perfect example of what talent South Africa has to offer.
