Newly revamped Shine Bar on Wexford St has recently launched a host of new DJ residencies from thursday to Sunday every week. This stylish and cosy venue formely The Cornerstone has changed its image positively bringing a fresh and upbeat vibe to the bar. The folks at Shine will be focusing on quality music, a friendly service and a truly vibrant atmosphere. Recently playing host to DJ's Rainer Trueby (Compost records) and Diesler (Tru-Thoughts) as part of the Heineken green synergy festival.
THURSDAY present Hot Drop as the first of the new residencies at Shine and is hosted by DJ Tom Beary who has played support for legendary Dj's such as Theo Parish, Greg Wilson, Mr Scruff and Recloose. The ethos behind the night is simply new music from genres of Soul, Funk, Reggae and experimental music.
FRIDAYS present Rotation, which will be a platform for Dublin's finest Black music DJ's to show their perspective. Each week will host a different DJ or crew from the many successful nights around the city. This night is all about bringing the music community together in one space without the usual politics.
SATURDAY host Soul Fiction, fronted by Dublin's Sonar Kollektiv representative Stee Downes, known for his recent album "all in a day" which was released on the Berlin label in Novemeber 2008 and fronting Dublin's funk and Soul label Scribble Records. Soul is at the heart of this night and Stee ventures into everything from Classic Soul to fresh new club sounds.With a party atmosphere every Saturday, Soul Fiction will keep you moving into the early hours.
Overall Shine is a forward thinking music bar with top local and International DJ's spinning quality music from around the globe.
