With her classy and sophisticated brand of R&B soul, Gianni is slated to be the next breath of fresh air to the new millennium music lover. Gifted with a strong, sultry alto, Gianni was influenced by a mixture of soul, R&B, jazz, funk, pop, gospel, blues and hip-hop. Her voice is sophisticated and distinct with a range matching the likes of Keyshia Cole and Mary J. Blidge. “People are thirsty for new music, a new innovative level of creativity, and I’m equipped to give it to them,†says the confident yet humble songbird.Gianni was born December 23, 1980, in Berkeley, CA, and raised in nearby San Pablo just outside of Richmond, CA. She grew up listening to female singers like Teena Marie, Phyllis Hyman, Angela Bofil, Anita Baker and Whitney Houston to name a few. An only child, and raised with modest beginnings by a single mother, Gianni developed a love for music at an early age. Her mother would play songs around the house constantly and at age 6, Gianni started to record herself singing to the records spinning on the stereo. At age 8, Gianni brought her teachers to tears when she performed “The Greatest Love of All†in front of her entire elementary school and in high school she was granted a scholarship to Blue Bear School of Music in San Francisco. She also performed with the ensemble group known as Voices of Reason at the East Bay Center for the Performing Arts in Richmond, CA. Over the years she has sang in various gospel choirs, won numerous talent competitions and penned over 100 unreleased songs to date. She was the First Place Winner of the 2002 CSUF talent show for vocal rendition of "Open My Heart" by Yolanda Adams and won First Place Most Promising Artist at the 2003 USA World Showcase Las Vegas, NV singing "If I Aint Got You" better than Alicia Keys herself.After graduating from college with a degree in Business Management, Gianni set her sights on Los Angeles to pursue her dream as a professional singer/songwriter. While working a full time corporate job as a human resources manager Gianni struggled but was eventually able to balance working by day and singing by night. “I used to complain about working a regular job until I came to the realization that it was building me to be a successful business person.†In 2008, Gianni joined the band Hindsite and began performing regularly at Bombay Bar and Grill in Ventura, CA. She has written songs with Billboard award winning producers Andrew Lane and Eddie Galan. She has also collaborated with pop artists such as J. Smith and Alison Stoner. She has written hooks for hip-hop artists such as Trensetta and Netwerq.Motivated by 70’s and 80’s R&B/Soul music, Gianni is bringing back the purity and soul of music with a new age twist. Gianni’s drive is fueled by her deep love of music as an art form and her dream of one day touching the hearts of many in a positive way through her God given gift. Gianni is all about LOVE and positivity and sings about topics such as self-love, relationships, social issues, empowerment and overcoming adversity. Growing up, Gianni never felt accepted by her peers and was often ostracized which led to her battle with low self-esteem throughout her early years. Then, there came a time when she put her foot down and said “That’s enough! I’m going to love myself no matter what!†At that point, she became a conqueror. Gianni is the friend you can talk to for hours about your issues and get sound advice. She’s the scorned lover who’s made every mistake there is when it comes to love. Gianni can see emotion as art and convey it straight to the heart. Her journeys make her quite unique and, therefore, so are the songs she sings.
