" Even if the radio don't play this...
Son, I'm still coming through exercising my greatness
While the industry suffers,
And execs lose they mind...
I'm making love to these tracks
Till I cum Write on time"

Jah-med is a Brookyn born MC that grew up in a rich cultural environment. Whether it was perusing his parent’s vast record collection, immersing himself in the culture of the local music and art scene, sharing ideas with historians, activists, political prisoners, spirtual priests and priestesses, Jah-med was always present and always absorbing. Also, as the younger brother to a successful booking agent and manager, Jah-med has attended live hip-hop shows, business meetings, and studio sessions from the time he was twelve years old. Inspired by some of his brother’s high-profile clients—the likes of Talib Kweli, Mos Def, Dead Prez, Common, Duo Live, Supernatural, Pete Rock, Jungle Brothers, and KRS-One to name a few—Jah-med learned at an early age what’s real and what’s not in the music industry. This guidance helped him to develop a solid musical foundation, while forging his own identity as an artist and forming a keen watchfulness for the traps and dangers associated with the music industry. Their influence along with the influence of Hip Hop artists from the 90’s and his own experiences working as a DJ has helped shape Jah-med into the type of artist he is today. Jah-med is and plans to continue forging the next edition of classic black music.Jah-med’s debut mixtape/album, Write On Time, transcends categorization, bringing diverse musical elements together with a strong purposeful message. The album features a rich diversity of songs that integrate the harsh realities of our times with a unique blend of humor, inspiration, analytical precision, and creativity, while not sacrificing audience appeal. He describes Write on Time as “a subtle, free flowing conversation with lessons in the recipe, that will affect people whether they taste it or notâ€. Beyond studio work, Jah-med has performed nationally and internationally, opening for Hip Hop greats such as Rakim, Juelz Santana, Lloyd Banks, Baby Cham, and Saigon while also sharing the stage with legends such as Lauryn Hill, Kanye West, India Arie, The Last Poets, Talib Kweli, and Dead Prez. The video for his first single, Fresh, is creating a buzz from coast to coast and is being hailed in the press as “an independent work of genius.†Jah-med is currently on tour promoting Write on Time and working in the studio on his eagerly anticipated next album. Universal in reach, unique in approach, lyrically brilliant & stylistically sound: Jah-med is hip hop as it should be.Check out the album/mixtape @ cdbaby.com/jahmed.
