Imagining Ourselves was the groundbreaking global online exhibition of the International Museum of Women ( Visit www.imow.org ) that reached out to a new generation. The exhibition featured the personal stories of young women poised to take the reigns of global leadership like no other generation in history; a generation of women who believe that anything is possible.More than a million women between the ages of 20 and 40 participated in Imagining Ourselves and answered the question:
“What defines your generation?â€
Through an online exhibition, a series of global gatherings, and a new book , Imagining Ourselves' online exhibition, which appears in Arabic, English, French and Spanish at imaginingourselves.imow.org, ran for 14 months and provided resources and opportunities for women to create change in their lives, in their communities, and in their world. The project attracted a global audience including everyone from women leaders, artists, and activists, to Olympic medalists and authors. The International Museum of Women continues to engage young women around the world in its ongoing series of online exhibitions, including Women, Power and Politics in 2008 and Women and Money in 2009, and in its online community.
