Arthur Bernard Dolino Lui Pio was born on February 8, 1982 in Quezon City, Philippines. He is a Filipino musician, songwriter, and vocalist for the band Hale. He is the second of four children of singer/songwriter Arthuro Lui Pio, otherwise known as Nonoy Tan. The nickname of Arthur Bernard, which is Champ, came from his father's sheer delight of a local group called CHAMPOY, who won in a local singing competition the day before Champ was born. He studied elementary and highschool at Marymount School in Parañaque City and took up Human Resource Management in De La Salle University - College of Saint Benilde. He and his bandmates began their career on July 2004, signed up with EMI Recordsin November 2004, and released their self-titled debut album in May 2005. They currently have five hit singles under their belt: Broken Sonnet, The Day You Said Goodnight, Kahit Pa, Kung Wala Ka, and Toll Gate.

For a date, he’d rather take a girl out to a place where hey could talk and get acquainted. It takes more than just a pretty smile to reel in this cutie! Champ believes in talking a deeper look, and he says he doesn’t fall at first sight.

• His last name is actually “TAN” and his dad is the award-winning composer and FILSCAP President, Mr. Arthuro “Nonoy” Tan. Lui~ Pio is their legal Chinese name and, although he’s one-fourth Chinese, Champ does no speak the language.
• His nickname actually extends to “CHAMPOY” and the reason behind this ethnic nick goes way back when he was born. According o Champ, his dad’s song won an awards in the Metropop Music Festival during that year, exactly a day before he was born and that song entitled Kahit La La La… Pwede Na was interpreted by Noel Trinidad and Subas Herrero of Champoy, and “out of my dad’s sheer delight over the triumph, he nicknamed me Champoy,” he shared.

dating. All he say is “I’m scared.”
