Starting out writing just to write lyrics, these two emcees were not always where they consider themselves artist wise today. Both KOFFEE, MC Sum'n Sweet, & Tito Beatz have more so enjoyed making music rather than promoting it, recording it, and selling it.
The Hometown Heroes started out with just MC Sumn Sweet & Koffee writing lyrics at the age of nine. Though the name hadn't materialized yet, the desire had. They continued to write and record music, but weren't really serious about it untill March of 2008 when the started promoting their music on Myspace and in the streets of Jacksonville. In the coming months the made connections with prominant regional hip hop artists and found the 3rd member of the group. Tito Beatz came along and produced the majority of the Heroe's debut mixtape The iLLEST Mixtape, and in March of 2009 Sumn Sweet & Koffee made him the official 3rd member.
From memories of first trying to record from an old digital camera mic. To taking mattresses and building a sound booth using a computer mic. These three emcees and long time friends have been through it all just to make original hip hop music. After years of writing music, cheaply recording it, and doing nothing after that. They have finally began to promote and distribute their music. As to the message coming across in every one of their bars, it is up to you the listener to understand their point of view.
