About Me
Originally from Cooperstown, NY, Kevin began drumming in high school band, studying with band director Joe Mone, a highly respected drummer/percussionist. Performing in Marching, Concert, and Jazz ensembles, Kevin was selected for All-State bands, and later worked with Ed Marschilok, an educator from Upstate NY, where he earned the Louis Armstrong Jazz Award and the National Association of Jazz Educators Award. Around that same time, Kevin had the honor of spending the summer studying with the Philadelphia Philharmonic in Saratoga, NY. Formal study continued at the School of Music at Onondaga College in Syracuse.Since moving to Austin TX, Kevin has performed and recorded with hundreds of bands, either locally or on the road, throughout the U.S., Canada, Europe, Asia... these include Hal Ketchum, Omar & The Howlers, Archie Bell & the Drells, Coco Montoya, Montel Williams, John Arthur Martinez and Mark Farner of Grand Funk Railroad. Drumming for studio sessions for songwriters in Austin also includes numerous radio and television ads. Several jobs with the Legends groups, the most recent as Musical Director for an overseas tour of Japan, Singapore and a month of shows on the island of Diego Garcia. Additionally, Kevin has performed with Zach Scott theatre, Austin Pops, Dell’s JCAA, Ballet Austin and Austin Dancers Workshop for numerous productions.
