Godshatter...............the name comes from the book "A Fire Upon The Deep", a piece of science fiction by Vernor Vinge. I had just finished reading it again and imposed apon Lee that he should read it also. It was Lee who picked up apon the name from the destruction of the power from the transcend. The origins of Godshatter..........lets just say that if Peyote Mothership was "Copper Blue" then Godshatter would be "Beaster". Lee and I (I being Jason that is) during one of our exploritory sonic sessions in 07, discussed the idea of a project that would touch on the heavier, darker aspects of our nature. This got shelved for awhile as other projects took presidents but raised its ugly head again at the end of 07 once more. Lee set the ground and we started working on the first five tracks.................three of these trax ended up as instrumentals (Godshatter, Individual Vehicles and Splatter on the Dancefloor). The other two trax demanded some lyrical imput. I decided to take on one but thought it would be a good idea to get a guest vocalist for the other. Lee thought this was a good idea also, so I approached Steve from the Lager Louts to see if he would be interested. It is our privilage that he was..........>;0)It was decided that we would try a jamming session and ask various individuals if they would like to participate. Eventually joining Lee and I were Steve (with a great wad of sheets of ideas for lyris), Joel (the bass was so loud it physically moved peoples clothing) and Sean on the skins. Lee recorded the lot on a sixteen track digital studio. In its raw state it is a monster. With some treatment it will soar into the transcend.
