About Me

Thank you for visiting Jason Shadd's (Shadd) solo artist page. His upcoming album "Shame 2006" is his debut album. Shadd is an artist who writes music in the vein of healing. He has a strong belief that his message is one of self understanding and does his best to combine Jazz, Rock, Folk, Blues, Funk, Old school Hip Hop etc. in his writing to bring a happy balance of feelings.
Because his father was an avid and ecclectic music fan, Shadd enjoyed music that ranged from Jazz standards to Zepplin to Billie Holiday (his personal favorite) and so on. Without knowing it, music took its hold on him and would serve him a dose of therapy that he never knew of, in his life to come. Every song, every note and every melody is nothing short of believable. His delivery is believable, because it is pure expression of real life stories. He finds himself writing more about pain and depression because he says, "this is where my music serves me best". The color he strives to provide behind what he has to say is both ambient and warm. Some may say scary...well, he would certainly agree. However, he doesn't look at depression like the masses say you should. It is neither damning nor taboo to talk about he believes. Through a dark period in his life, music was his saving grace. And his lyrical content takes you on a deep enchanting journey that leaves you questioning yourself, life and views we sometimes just accept. "It is the QUESTION that spirals us into a reality outside our comfort fence".
The meeting of Dave Monroy of Doc Morpheind Productions has only furthered the direction of Shadd. Dave served as an inspiration to bring much needed focus and education in the arrangement of his songs. The pre-production tracks for the demo EP which include 5 tracks that were completed in an astonishing 2 weeks at Shadd's house of all places, will be available at the upcoming shows. He is in the process of establishing the necessary connections to pursue music on a more serious level now and there will be more to come. As he says, "I have written more songs than I can keep up with, but I think I have narrowed it down to make it a fitting journey". When questioned if he has plans to form a band around his solo effort he never rules that out. But for now, he is happy to just bring his songs to you. So stay tuned for upcoming shows.
