About Me
CzechBack came into vision around Christmas 2007, when many a Business Studies lesson was spent discussing music by Dan and John, the now ex-guitarist of the band. Dan set about writing some songs and he managed to rope in two other band members.
Conveniently, Tom received a lovely Fender bass guitar from Santa and was oh so happy to be a part of the line up.
The drummer arrived shortly after, in the form of Jake, a self-taught drummer wanting to get back in a band.
The first practice session was in an attic at Tom’s house in the middle of February. After just one practice, the still un-named band, decided to play the open mic night at the legendary Newport Navy Club. The band managed to pull off a set consisting of a few songs, to give them a taster of playing live music.
After loads of creativity and a few band names later, the name CzechBack was settled on. What a hilarity.
May 2008 brought a shift in the line-up as unfortunately John Pearce decided he could no longer commit to CzechBack and felt he wasn't ready to move on with the band. Putting the band’s best interests at mind, he made the decision to leave. The remaining three band members quickly picked themselves up initially to carry on as a trio, often seen wandering the streets late at night completely lost to the world.
However, Charles, offered his services to the band as a lead guitarist. The original three had no second thoughts and quickly snapped him up.
With initial rough recordings under their belt, CzechBack are now looking to re-record and move onto bigger and better things.

What a night! Last nights sellout at cosy hall was a massive step forwards for us. Thanks to everyone who turned up and we are willing to sleep with everyone who sang along! We love you! The new songs went down a treat which was wicked. So thanks again to all the bands, and especially Jack Kenyon who ran the entire show! See you soon at our next gig. T-shirts on the way fairly soon. Interested?

It is with great sadness that we have to inform you of the departure of our lead guitarist John. He has decided to leave CzechBack as he feels he can't commit to the band, especially during our exams time. We haven't just lost a lead guitarist but also a good friend and a top bloke. CzechBack wishes John the best for the future, but as for the rest of us, we need to move on quickly. We now welcome Charles to the band and we hope we can continue bringing the same music to your ears.

Well, after many nights spent writing and changing and rejecting countless riffs, unwitty lyrics and frankly boring bass riffs, we've finally finished 4 BRAND NEW SONGS! The titles are:
-Fuck & Fight
-Indie Mafia
-The Young Ones
-The Pirate Song
Hard work begins tomorrow night when Czechback finally get together again to rehearse this brand new material. And we're quite frankly rather excited about it all. Now the news you've all been waiting for .. when are we recording? The answer is ... WHEN WE HAVE SOME MONEY! But we should have them delivered to your very own eardrums within the next month or so. In the meantime, we'll unveil all our new songs at any gigs lined up in the future. So come on down, and join our Indie Mafia!!

What a day! We spent 6 hours at Counterfeit Studios in Telford recording our first 3 songs. Under pressured conditions we managed to leave with 3 new songs under our belts. Thanks again to Logan and the crew for sorting everything out for us. Following the excitement of "having stuff online!" We headed back to Dans for some now legendary CzechBack Pizza and a bit of a break before heading out to Newport. Playing much further up the bill this time, we did another 4 song set at the Navy Club starting about 9.30. New song "Stumbling" was unveiled to a great reception and the most energetic song of the night was shown with a cover of "Oh Yeah" by The Subways. Thanks to everyone who made it down, the atmosphere was great! Even the banjo bearing regulars appeared to enjoy what was described as a "Lively, loud set from CzechBack"

We are going into the studio on April 1st to lay down some beats. We'll have 2 tracks up by the end of the day. Also, pop down to the Navy Club to check us out. Message the band for details or any band member.

After fannying around for a bit with the idea of making a band, we decided our day of judgement was upon us and we needed to get some music done. Our first ever practice was on 15/02/08 at Tom's pad and before we knew it, we had played our first gig at the Newport Navy Club. Make sure you "CzechBack" for updates. Excuse the pun.
