Unpredictable New is the side project of local veteran musician Gen Cassista. It began as an experiment, fusing hardcore riffs with intensely melodic acoustic melodies. Drum Machines were later added to provide the songs with beat and punctuation.
In the spring of 2003, Unpredictable New released its first album "songs about what you've done to me". The album was given out to friends and saw a brief appearance in local record stores. Gen didn't play live in support of the album, and it soon fell off the radar.
For the next few years after the release of 'songs...' Gen began to write a more mature, more emotionally powerful album. The drum machines on the previous effort gave way to live drum tracking and after two years of solid writing, Unpredictable New released its second full length album "A Book Of Love: recited courtesy of the broken hearted" on November 2nd/2005.
A small tour followed the album's release in which Gen would frequently play the album in its entirety.
Unpredictable New is on the eve of completing the song writing process for a new album, due out early in 2007. Stay tuned for uploaded demos and more news!
