About Me
LucKee Bio
The two young phenomenons named Ariel Owens, who many know as "Luck" and KiAira Price who many know as "Mz.Kee" make up the group called "LucKee". Which came to be a very talented pop, hip-hop as well as R&B group. LucKee's music streamed through just about every music genre. From Ariel Owen's beautiful singing voice to KiAira Price's extravagantly rare rapping voice. These two began working together, while labeling themselves LucKee in 2007. KiAira Price was sixteen and Ariel Owens was fifteen. Though these two both had the passion for music before then, they started making music at a very young age.
Mz.Kee formally known as KiAira was born September 3, 1991. To Donna Price and Kenneth Ware, in Cleveland Ohio. Being the youngest of five she was the only girl. "As a young child my mother would sing around the house, and she has such a beautiful voice." Which led Mz.Kee to have such a passion for music. Just as any other child she would try singing and rapping in front of the mirror with the remote in her hand, as the mic, "the spot in front of the mirror was the stage, where I was entertaining thousands of people." With the determination Mz.Kee had "along with the inspiration from my oldest brother "Supa", I promise to never give up on my dream." When Mz.Kee was nine years old she moved to Cleveland Heights, "where my best friend Tashi and I met." Who already had a group of young girls and eventually Mz.Kee entered the group. "It didn't last long though," yet and still Mz.Kee continued to pursue her dreams. In 2006, "this was the year things began to feel real for me." Mz.Kee had began writing plenty of songs "I was writing songs for myself, my cousins and even R&B songs." Also Mz.Kee and her cousin Sean began a group called A.P.C "that stood for Always Paper Chasin." The group consisted of two guys and one girl "in the beginning," then there was more added which made it three guys and two girls "we made a song called Fresh. This is when Luck and I first worked together."
Luck, the given birth name Ariel was born April 22, 1992. To Kim Woodson and Brandon Owens, with an older sister, brother and her younger twin sister. "Growing up as a child my twin and I did everything together learning one two three's to singing ABC's." Luck began singing at a very young age "when I was five I noticed how nice my voice was when I was singing my ABC's." Which continuously led her to engaged more into using her voice and other talents. At age eight Luck and her cousins started a dance group called Prodigy. "Though this led to more than a dance group, I heard one of my cousins singing and realized she could really sing." At age nine is when Luck began to write music "when I first began witting I didn't exactly know my range so I would write hoping it would sound good for me. And if it didn't I would hope to sell it to someone really big one day." With the great attitude Luck had, along with her well singing skills she made every song work for her. She learned to sing in more than one pitch. At age fourteen she entered high school at the School of Arts, "majoring in acting," which helps her to change her style and voice while singing. Also, helps her make songs very easily "by the time I was sixteen I had a hundred song written." Though this doesn't even include the songs Luck has from the the group A.P.C "when Mz.Kee and I first began working together."
Even though the group, Luck and Mz.Kee were in was going very good. The two girls wanted to do something different, "we wanted to switch the style up in Cleveland's music." In 2007, Cleveland's style of music was Capp music, their wasn't any female duet groups in Ohio. The two young lady's first song of just them two, " was called He's Got ah Body, we were still in the group A.P.C at the time." The song had streamed all over Myspace " the people loved it!" At this time they were still in A.P.C but with all the fan base and exposure they were receiving the two went on to continue making songs of them two. As the boys would just make songs with just them on it. Gradually the group went their separate ways, "but we were still very close, us separating didn't change a thing." Only thing that changed was the expectations on Cleveland's music, once these two linked their ideas and styles with one another; it came to be outstanding, lovable songs. The first song the two did as a duet was called "Stop", before they even had gave themselves a title.
Now were known as LucKee, " we came up with the name LucKee because Ariel stage name is Luck and KiAira's is Mz.Kee. So we dropped the "Mz" and added the the Kee to Luck and it became LucKee." The first song Stop, started them out with such a nice entrance to the music industry, it wasn't the original Capp sound you would hear from Cleveland's artist the song was made like a conversation. Strongly capturing listeners, of all kinds "it was originally meant to capture females," it captured females but it attracted the ears of males, even more. Giving them a well rounded fan base, "which didn't give us a choice but to make another song." Song number two and LucKee's first song, that would be Kickit, people enjoyed listening to this happy, fun lovable song. This song streamed all over the net "from Imeem to Myspace" and through various speakers "from houses to cars." "The song received eleven thousand plays on Myspace alone!" Being an huge amount for a group who has never did a show nor who's had promotion. People loved the song so much they were asking for a song number two, "so then, we made I Love It and we thought people loved Kicit." LucKee listeners adored I Love It this wasn't just captured to those in their hometown; but all over Ohio, the net "and even in other countries." LucKee received more than twenty thousand plays on Myspace with in the first three weeks. The two gained so much popularity and love they were determined to continue giving the listeners nothing but the best sound they would continue to love to hear. " After I Love It, the two of us got a beat set down thought of two different ideas and put them together." Giving LucKee song number three, called Crazy, not only giving them more exposure it also landed them on Cleveland's number one hip-hop station. "Thanks to everyone who support us, and for that, we'll continuously make music for you too enjoy!"
