About Me

Outer-Melbourne-based band, intro/outro, may only be newcomers to the stage but with youth on their side and a powerful energy that needs to be seen to be believed, they thump out tunes that both empower and enlighten. With sneaky off beat rhythms and the experimentation with some strange timing, they hope to bring a new feel to the world of rock music. After only weeks of being together they were eager to get in front of a crowd for the first time, simply to see how well they bonded in a live situation. This brief experience was enough to energize the band to start working on some pieces they could ultimately form into something of high enough quality to be worth recording. Each member brings their own style, flavour & influences to the band which has helped them in creating a sound that can be enjoyed by fans of several genres. With each member enjoying genres as broad as electronica, ambient & indie right through to metal, rock & progressive, you can imagine that when it comes to writing, there are endless ideas being thrown around before they can come to something that works for each member.

Jason rips the strings off Gibson guitars through Marshall & Washburn amps. James refuses to service Gibson guitairs through Marshall amps. Justin smashes a Mapex drum kit with Vic Firth sticks (see images for detailed setup). Dave’s thumping basslines come from a J&D Bass, through Behringer amps.
Influences: As a band, intro/outro have taken influences from a wide range of artists over several genres. Having a large, broad range of music to listen to, and each member having a varied taste helps to create a blend of echoes from such bands as Smashing Pumpkins, Primus, The Mars Volta and Led Zeppelin right through to Tool, Pantera, Deftones and Muse.Individually, each member takes influence from several different artists. Whether it be an artist that plays the same instrument or genre, or even someone that they look up to as someone who has helped them stay focussed on their goals. Some of them are listed here... Jason - (still coming)... James - (still coming)... Justin’s influences - Jimmy Chamberlin, Danny Carey, John Bonham, Mike Portnoy, Billy Corgan, and the list will continue at a later date... Dave’s influences - (still coming)...
Sounds Like: As mentioned there are several influences that you may be able to pick up on in a few of the tracks and having a broad range of styles that the band reflects helps to create a sound that seems familiar, yet totally new. The quality of the recording at present isn't fantastic, in actual fact it sounds like a deaf, half blind, retarded toddler has been doing the miking up, but with the band in preparation for some studio time to put together some initial tracks down to form the base for vocals to be added, hopefully there should be some decent recordings up and running soon.
