Live performance by Rosh Roslin
Originally hailing from San Diego, Rosh was initially inspired to play music after hearing Miles Davis' "Kind of Blue." His foray into the guitar would follow soon after hearing "Give it Away Now" by the Red Hot Chili Peppers on the radio.
In 2003, after gigging locally in San Diego, Rosh packed up his amps and guitars and moved to LA to cut his teeth in the music business there. Inspired to further his musical education, Rosh decided to attend Hollywood's Musician's Institute, in addition to expanding his musical experience and talent roster. MI was an educational pit stop for some of his favorite guitar heroes such as Frank Gambale, John Frusciante, and Scott Henderson. It was here that he solidified the blending of his eclectic influences which ranged from hard rock, classic rock, funk, hip-hop, jazz, and Latin music into a seamless genre-blending style. His tireless dedication to music turned the heads of many of the staff and in 2004, he was presented with the "Outstanding Student Award", an accolade most notably shared by players such as Frank Gambale (Chick Corea), Jeniffer Batten (Michael Jackson), George Lynch (Dokken), and Paul Gilbert (Racer X, Mr. Big).
As of 2008, Rosh has gigged all over LA as a bandleader, a sideman, and a solo performer. He has worked with 2-time Grammy award-winning producer/engineer JJ Blair, as well as many other prestigious artists. In June, Rosh was hired as the Musical Director for the house band for the "World Peace For Life" concert at the Los Angeles Convention Center (http://www.worldpeaceevents.com/). While also filling the guitar chair in the house band, Rosh was privileged to share the stage and back up Grammy Award Nominee and R&B Legend Howard McCrary and Iranian pop singer/actress Helen, as well as providing musicians to many of the event's artists including international superstar Najam Sheraz. Although he aims to execute every musical vision he is involved with, Rosh continues to seek his true musical voice while bringing his unique, diverse array of influences to each project.
Rosh is available for live gigs, studio work, and teaching. He also offers music transcription, music arranging, music direction and music orchestration services.
Rosh proudly uses Paul Reed Smith, Fender, and Gibson guitars; he also uses Mesa/Boogie, Marshall, and Fender amplification.
Rosh has studied under:
Matt Baldoni (Frankie Valli, Mindi Aibair)
Pathik Desai (Nick Lachey, Aaron Carter, Dream)
