My kitties, Baily & Xander:
Travel is a huge part of my life. In the last few years I've visited many different parts of our beautiful country. NYC is probably my favorite city, but I didn't take pictures either of the times I visited because I was too busy absorbing the city (such a fantastic place...I want to move there!). Next time, I'm going to experience the city with my camera lens. L.A. was fun, but I didn't get to see too much of it. Chicago is a fantastic city, even in bitter cold temps. D.C. was much nicer than I expected and I can't wait to go back. Two of my favorite places to visit are Charleston, SC, a beautiful, historic coastal city, and Asheville, NC, a lovely, artsy, funky mountain city. The Biltmore Estate in Asheville is an inspiring place to visit.

Still in mourning for Buffy the Vampire Slayer. Heroes is my favorite new TV show. Hiro rules! Lost, Scrubs, My Name is Earl, The Office, Alias, Sex and the City, Project Runway, Top Chef, anything on the History Channel, TLC, or A&E.
I was an English major so that should say it all. My favorite book as a child was Island of the Blue Dolphins. I used to spend countless hours in the school library and the public library, checking out a dozen books at a time. Then I'd read every second I wasn't doing something else (and sometimes when I was doing something else, lol). I went through phases with my reading. True crime, horror, cheesy romance novels, architecture, biographies...you name it and I probably went through a phase where I read everything I could find on that subject. History fascinates me so I've been reading a lot of non-fiction lately. I also love a great celeb biography (funny ones). I highly recommend Bruce Campbell's If Chins Could Kill: Confessions of a B-Movie Actor and Jamie Kennedy's Wannabe.

For me, a hero is a person who takes a stand against what they believe to be wrong, even when they risk standing alone or being hurt or being rididuled. People like Elizabeth Cady Stanton and Martin Luther King, Jr. embody that for me.
Quotes I love:
"A lie gets halfway around the world before the truth has a chance to get its pants on."
- Sir Winston Churchill (1874-1965)
"The artist is nothing without the gift, but the gift is nothing without work."
- Emile Zola (1840-1902)
"Each friend represents a world in us, a world possibly not born until they arrive, and it is only by this meeting that a new world is born."
- Anais Nin
"But seduction isn’t making someone do what they don’t want to do. Seduction is enticing someone into doing what they secretly want to do already."
- Waiter Rant
"Our lives begin to end the day we become silent about things that matter."
- Martin Luther King, Jr. (1929 - 1968)
