Rich Weir:
Rich started Racing R/C trucks in 1989 after buying a used Tamya Blackfoot from his Brother-in-law. In 1992 Rich Bought a Brand new Traxxas Rustler, just released from Traxxas. Rich made many modifications to his Rustler, building this entry level Truck into a winning Stock class Truck. Rich designed his own Transaxle in 2002, and That Transaxle is still running today. Rich has enjoyed many wins, and major awards in large events.
On Monday 02/13/06 Rich was involved in an Industral accident, With injurys to his spine, and was unable to race again until June 2007.
This was just like starting over for Rich, dropping down into the Novice class, just trying to get back into Racing.
After 3 wins, just before the 2008 Winter Rage in Portland Oregon, Rich bought a XXXT Losi, and bumped up in to the Sportsman Stock Truck class. Rich is still Running in the Sportsman class, and running good.
Rich Uses: Novak GTB 13.5 Brushless system, and a Futaba Radio to control his XXXT MF2 Losi. Rich always uses Proline tires to get the best in Traction.
Christian Weir:
Christian started racing in 02/08 And today has 4 wins. He races his Dads old Traxxas Rustler in the Novice class. Christian only being 10 years old, is quickly learning about his truck, and how to discribe what it needs to be faster. We beleive he will move up into the Sportsman stock Truck class before the end of the year. Christian's Traxxas Rustler is powered by a Birdman 27 turn Motor, a Novak Super rooster ESC, controled by a Futaba Radio, and Proline tires.
Matt Fraces, and MOST EVERY R/C RACER.
ALL ARE WELCOME HERE!
We were able to Race with one of the biggest Champions in R/C racing this year at the Winter Rage in Portland.
California's own Brian Kinwald.
Brian is fast!!! There is not a doubt that he can adapt to any track condition, and pull the right set up out to win. I just hope that one day I can be that good. (Yeah I know, good luck!)
Many people think that R/C racing is a bunch of people playing with toys..... This is so not the case!
First, these are not something you get at Toys R us, or Radio shack. These cost hundreds, to thousands of dollors. they are kits that most have to be built, and then to race, they need to upgraded to the conditions, with custom shocks, with the right combo of spring... Don't worry there are many to choose from!!!! and only one is right!
Motors are another thing, If your racing in a stock class, then there are about 20 to 30 that you can use, and even though they are the same turn (27) They all act diffrent to the type of Battarys, and gears you run. OH thats 2 other things, and we haven't even talked about tires, foams, ESC's and Radio systems yet.... Simple, I don't think so!! But its all worth it when you get that first win!!!
We put as much work into our Trucks, as Nascar puts into there cars... yes its true...
Want to see why, Come out to a Race... You will have an awesome time!!!
