Even though Kristen is from the small California sierra mountain town of Sonora, her heart has always been in Nashville. Kristen had early influences in country music from her father who was from Texas. She knew her love of country music would lead her to Tennessee. In California Kristen conditioned her skills as a vocalist. It would be 2004 before Kristen made her move to Tennessee. To occupy her time in California, Kristen performed at local venues in and around Sonora. A concert at Ironstone Winery fueled her fire for more, as the crowd of 5,000 cheered her on. Realizing she needed more opportunity than her home town could offer, she and her family moved to Tennessee. Once in Nashville Kristen spent most of her time in and out of studios, recording and writing. Her efforts weren’t without praise, young and old applauded Kristen’s fresh mix of classic and contemporary country. Renowned voice coach Renee Grant Williams told Kristen “You are ready to go…Ready to be playing on the radio.†Kristen found more inspiration to continue following her dreams after meeting country super star Trisha Yearwood at a Nashville soundstage. Yearwood encouraged Kristen, as she told her of her early days in the music city. Since being in Nashville, Kristen has been performing at local writer's nights. She has become a regular at the Commodore, where she performs three to four times a month. Kristen has performed three full concerts at the Gibson and Douglas Corner. Kristen's goals for 2007 are to book more concerts and present her material to the major labels. Kristen has developed her writing skills since being in Nashville. Not only is she a great singer she has also become a great songwriter. She has written, and recorded with Terry Bennefield, Brent Bennett, Kenny Royster, Steve Mitchell, and Ray Cutshaw. Kristen has also been writing with her husband, Joe Sins. Kristen and Joe have recorded some duets together as well. With both outstanding voices, this should be a treat for Kristen and Joe's fans. Kristen is a member of NSAI. She enjoys writing and meeting other writers there. Kristen appreciates all the support NSAI has given her. Kristen received Honorable Mention on her song "Right Where I'm Suppose to Be" at the NSAI Songwriters contest this year. Kristen has had the honor of opening for Chely Wright, Doug Stone, and Ron Williams. Kristen is still taking every oppurtunity to perfect her voice. Kristen has had the oppurtunity to work with Renee Grant Williams, Christy Sutherland and Robin Earl.Header Banner Made with MyBannerMaker.com! Click here to make your own!
