About Me

I live in Westchester but work in NYC so spend a lot of time there after work, actually thinking about taking the plunge and moving down there. Not certain whether I would though...I love the city, it's nitelife, the excitement but I also love a nice quiet summer morning with a cup of coffee on my deck and I think Id miss all the yardwork(don't tell my dad). I'm just a country-mouse at heart, I guess. I enjoy going out alot, but also love to stay in when the mood hits me.To tell you some of the things that I enjoy, I love to travel and am always willing to go somewhere new and it need not be some exotic, far-away place (although those are fun). Seriously though, a nice quick day-trip or weekend getaway with friends will more than suffice. Growing up in an Italian family, I learned to cook at an early age (thanks Grandma!). I come from a big family and family is very important (my nephews are so much fun) .I like to keep busy doing different things, but am always willing to just kick back and relax on a lazy Saturday morning with my dog, Nick, curled up alongside me. My personality can be described as sarcastic but sweet. I love it when someone can not only take my sarcasm, but give it back as well! I am trusting to a fault and fiercely loyal to whoever has earned that trust. I enjoy the simple pleasures of life and my tastes can be described as the same.

| View | Add FavoriteI enjoy the simple things in life. Little things are exciting and I've been known to be very happy doing silly things! My beagle Nicholas (RIP little guy!!) used to amuse me for hours...especially when he runs after squirrels in the backyard (never did seem to catch them). Funky-style restaurants/bistros with unique foods and great coffee. Bars with microbrewed beers or good wine, and good rock and roll or quiet jazz. For travel, give me Italy any time, also would love to safari in Africa and visit Austrailia. Recently went indoor rock climbing (thanks Tara) and really enjoyed it...a bit daunting at first but so much fun, looking forward to making it a regular thing.

Exotic yet ordinary.
People think they've had enough of you, but they're back for more in an hour. What Kind of Food Are You?

I'd like to meet:

It's hard to describe people that I've never met (but that won't stop me from taking a crack at it), but I tend to be drawn to people who have similar interests to me but diverse enough to be interesting. People who are sure of themselves, but not full of themselves. People who I can experience new things with, creating great memories that we can share. People who are easily content with either staying hanging around watching TV/sports(!)/video, going into the city to eat/drink/have fun, see a great new band, strolling through some museum or art gallery or just having no plans and seeing where the moment takes us. My friends must have a sense of humor and be able to laugh at my lame attempts at humor as well as themselves, they must also have a self-confidence about them, a true "drop whatever you're doing" spontanaity and a love of life. Too much to ask for?

Music:

Music absolutely keeps me sane. My ipod is, as are most people's, an eclectic mix to say the list (including more than a few "guilty pleasure" songs that I'd never admit to in public. However, since I find "What sort of music do you listen to" to be a horrendous question and somewhat pretentious, I'll explain. Not a huge fan of country music (except for the Dixie Chicks), but understand it's easy to sing along and tap your boot to (and I don't consider "All My Rowdy Friends" country music, it's just football music). Enjoy occasional Classic Rock until it feels too much like I'm in my hometown again where all radio stations are stuck in some sort of strange Cream laden time warp and I'm, once again, embracing my latent guido tendencies, driving around in my Firebird on Long Island listening to WBAB. I enjoy indie stuff (Wilco and The Iry are recent faves[for more listen to woxy.com]) till it starts sounding like Baby Einstein - we can all make fun little diddies in our garage - have to insist on some sort of real musical talent thankfully the two that I mention have it in spades (Wilco at Tallstacks was one of the best live shows I've seen, truly). Generally steer clear of stuff that's too entirely poppy (however, I'll contradict myself on this point later on). Recently rediscovered my love of cool jazz as a melodic backdrop. This doesn't negate the fact that I was one of probably two guys in my ultra-"cracker" high school who knew every word to every NWA song, nor does it detract from the fact that I have, quite proudly, downloaded a few Justin Timberlake songs. I'm a musical mess or, better stated, eclectic in my tastes. But i do love music - love live shows, hearing new bands (thankfully I've recently befriended someone, a self-proclaimed music spaz, who really openened my eyes (and ears) to all sorts of different genres and styles--lot's of great stuff out there). And, of course as some people would proudly point out as I age like fine wine my musical skew moves towards 'adult contemporary' although I'd have to argue that point just out of sheer principle.

Movies:

Princess Bride, Say Anything, Sixteen Candles...actually all those 80's John Hughes, quasi-"Brat Pack" films, Time Bandits, The Fish that Saved Pittsburgh (don't ask), Bring it On (on TNT), Mystic Pizza, The Replacements, Singles, Braveheart, Gladiator, Basketball Diaries, Goodfellas, well done documentaries...too many to list so I'll stop there. Regardless of the flick, Goobers are a must. Last movie I saw was The Prestige, horrible flick...walked out after a half hour. Actually thought I was going to see the other Christian Bale flick, Hard Times (action movie) but got duped and bought tix to this $10.00 suck-a-thon (it was a movie about magicians stealing tricks from each other...'nuff said).

Television:

Saturday and Sunday are football days on the tube than that, the idiot box is usually on for background noise.
