Bobby Hawkins & The Blues Train Band Appearing @ The Valley Hotel
Then for something totally different, catch YinZide OuT on Friday October 2, 2009, together with special guests...
YinZide OuT Appearing @ Max's Allegheny Tavern!
Hi, I'm Keith and I play bass in the Pittsburgh based blues (Chicago Style), R&B, soul, funk band Bobby Hawkins & The Blues Train Band, and in the rock band, 7thSense. Both bands put on high energy shows that display the diverse range of influences of each of the band members. I also play in Dave Yoho's music project YinZide OuT (yin-sahyd aht). I try to add just the right touch of funk, rock and soul in the bottom end along with some lower melodic color. Some of my influences on the deep end are Jack Bruce, Carl Radle, Tommy Shannon, Larry Grahm, and Allen Woody (there are simply too many great bass players to list here though...check out some of My Favorite Bass Players Photo Album in My Photos).
Check out my gig dates here or on the bands' websites for when we'll will be at a club near you. Hope to see you there!

My Interests

Music:

Band Members:

Influences: Rick Harris (got me into playing bass in what...like 10th grade! - phenominal guitarist and just a great human being. Miss him in Ireland), David Kaplan (great guitarist, magician and juggler - true story), Berry Oakley (Allman Brothers) Jack Bruce (primarily known for his work with Cream, but he is so much more), Felix Pappalardi (Mountain-need I say more), Jack Cassidy (any Hot Tuna), Dale Peters (his work on James Gang Rides Again is my favorite), Carl Radle (his work with Derek & The Dominos), Tommy Shannon - 1/2 of Double Trouble (SRV, The Arc Angles and Storyville), recent influences are Roscoe Beck (his work with Robben Ford primarily, but really anything he does) and Allen Woody (Allman Bros./Govt Mule) & Andy Hess (Black Crowes/Govt Mule), Todd Smallie (Derek Trucks Band & Susan Tedeshi).

My all time favorite bass player...

Sounds Like: The fusion of my influences and myself all together amplified at high volume with big fat classic warm Fender/Ampeg tone!

Below is a picture of my bass/amp/cab rig 1970s Fender Telecaster Bass w/2 Humbuckers, SVT Pro IV (in roadcase w/Furman power conditioner) and Bergantino 6-10
