Born June 18th, 1987 in the U.S. Virgin Islands of St. Thomas, Melanius Sylvester Jr. at the age of 13, moved to the states in search of a better life. Since his move to Miami, Florida he began his conquest of for filling his dream to becoming an entertainer in the music industry.
As a young boy, "V.I Gemini", experienced trials and tribulations which enabled him to ball up his inner feelings until he was able to release them the best way he knew how. One of young Gemini’s inspirations was getting to get on a microphone and express himself freely. He came to realize that music was the best way for him to share his different points and views of love and hate towards life situation to his peers and others. He decided to by way of voice he shall share his in site and stories on what goes on in his "World". The name "V.I Gemini" is a representation of both his zodiac sign and the Virgin Islands, where he was born and raised!!
Developing a unique and diverse melodic formula, he applies passion and dedication to every word. Experiencing a serious display of ups and downs has taken him to new heights in his life as well as enhanced his understand and comprehension to a level that many people are not prepared for. When writing his music, he allows it to come from the heart through past experiences. "To be honest, that is where the best lyrics come from!!". While staying on top of his academics, Gemini, has been able to maintain a level head and stay on top of his music grind.
As of 2008, V.I Gemini found a home along side the infamous soldier squad T.N (The Net), joining the X-Tra Flo Production/ X.F Records family. While currently working on his first debut album V.I Gemini assures all his listeners the wait will not be in vain. Working with artist such as A.C, Screechy Dan and others as well as his fellow label mates General X-Tra, T.N.S and Tanya, he is definitely looking to take the game by storm not leaving a single ear behind. Determined to revive the music business from its recession Gemini finds himself in the studio grinding it out more then ever before.
After finding a home along side the industries newest and beloved soldiers (T.N) The Net, under the X.F Records family, V.I Gemini has wasted no time as he began working on his first solo debut.
Joining X.F Records earlier this year, the highly anticipated Virgin Islands rap artist has set out to claim his name to fame. Working harder then ever before, it was only a matter of time before it was decided that he shall to put a stop to the long wait for his release. Presenting his first solo debut album "V.I Gemini's World" expected to release summer of 2008. Displaying, a wide vary of passion, growth, skill and diversity, V.I Gemini looks to bring life from his world to ours.
While meeting with one of his label mates we asked, what is it like having a versatile artist like Gemini in the family? "man, real talk I love. I think it makes the family a serious threat. He does more then you think including keeping everyone here on top of our game. That guy brought the beast back, then evolved him, did I mention I love it (laughing)".
According to the X.F Team there will be a large campaign behind the release of this album, they're even organizing a mini tour. Stay tuned for release dates and touring sites near you.

What inspired you to make music? Life, its Happiness and Sorrows!
Who would you say inspired you the most? Mostly the R&B artists such as Luther Vandross, Tank, Neyo, T-Pain, Alecia Keys, Tyrese, and of course "Rock City".
How long have you been rapping? It’s been about 3yrs since I’ve been sharing my life with the music World.
How do you feel about the music business today? The music business today is becoming, in my eyes, a gateway for many young talented artists around the world or from different cultures to give a taste of good music!
Who in the industry would you like to work with? In the music industry today, I would love to work with artists or producers such as Akon, T-Pain, Rock City, Tank, Tyrese, Timbaland, Scott Storch, Chris Brown, and many more.
