Calling Brando is a group of musicians and friends that found a life through various bands and acquaintances in a tight knit musical community. Three of the 5 members formerly were the backbone of the popular regional band, Smalltown. Upon Smalltown's disbanding, Johnny, Freddy and Stayce decided that it was time to get back to their roots... ROCK. Livvy had been singing independently and was in search of a band, so when the four of them got together to mourn the passing of their fallen friend (and Stayce's brother) at a benefit concert, the dye was cast for a supergroup. With killer riffs, screaming leads, solid powerful grooves and world class vocals, Brando is loaded with talent and is ready to take the world by storm.
The heart of their music comes from their songwriting kinship that was forged through long hours in the studio together. "Up until now," says Freddy, "Johnny, Stayce and I were always writing and recording, working on harmonies, melodies, lyrics and vocals. The songs came easy, and it was a lot of fun. Stayce and I have had songs recorded by All-4-One and The Brave, and hope to make a splash with Brando's brand of power rock."
Drummer Johnny Z explains Brando's style as such: "We all come from different backgrounds, and professional situations, so when we play together, the magic just happens. Brando is rock, for sure, but it's also very easy to sing along to."Stayce, Freddy and Johnny Z have played in several different professional situations, but newcomer Livvy Rose is the icing on the cake; the missing piece of the puzzle. She has done numerous studio sessions, and her strength, range and vocal ability are a testament to her influences. Shades of Pat Benatar, Ann Wilson and Tori Amos are immediately evident with one listen.Rounding out the lineup is Miah Handley, laying down the bass grooves. Miah has a stage presence that is second to none, completing an all-star lineup that is sure to have you rocking in no time at all.So look out America; look out world--Calling Brando is coming to your town and stealing your soap. Maybe your cars. Maybe your CD's.Layout by CoolChaser
