AZ Raj - Azteca Lirical derives his name from his deep ancestral roots. His family is not only from El Paso, TX and Cd. Juarez, CHIH., but also from Guanajuato, MX. where his father's side of his family still speaks Nahuatl: the official Aztec native language. AZ is short for Azteca (Aztec). Raj is short for his dance nickname; "Raja". Azteca Lirical is spanish for Lirical Aztec.AZ Raj began his entertainment career back in San Diego, CA. in 1996 as a background dancer for various local artists and eventually made his way back to his home town in El Paso, TX. in 2001 to continue his dancing career. During the time he continued to dance, he began to M.C. for local dance groups and entertainers and has never let go of that microphone since. He discovered his true passion at that time; holding a microphone and entertaining his audience.AZ Raj produces all his own music and lyrics with true passion, dedication and soul. His influences range from a variety of artists ranging from El General to Missy Elliott and genres ranging from Reggae to House.
